@328gts yep, at least try to collect links... but if we set up one, we should do it properly and perfect, so that it is "the" Address for SAM owners concerning hardware. Maybe we can contact IntuitionBase and offer help there.. Having Hardwarlist etc. spreaded around everywhere is kind of stupid.

Well I started one on Amigaworld.net but did not get much feedback. There is a good supported german Hardwarelist on OS4welt.de. I donnot know wether it is accessable at the moment, cause they are updating forum/server/website software at the moment....

@cygnusEd Just wondering wether it is possible to port XSane + Epson2 backend to Amicygnix ? I think, it would be very handy to use a modern (All in one) scanner under AmigaOS... far better then booting into Debian on my SAM and using it from there. Speed would be also no issue in this application !!

@328gts Enabling DMA on SAM: http://amigaworld.net/modules/newbb/v ... _id=27603&forum=14#467332AND READ: SYS:Documentation/IDE/sii3114ide_dev.doc (In this case on your CD-ROM) You will find some examples how to set up DMA/Transfermode in UBoot. But honestly, why not send SAM back to your dealer and ask for a preinstall ?? My feeling says it should be hardware issue (I am 80% sure...)

@328gts
But Debian Linux worked fine ??? Were you able to boot into Debian ?
Did you ever installed OS4.1 before from CD on your SAM, or was it preinstalled.
Maybe HD is broken, or the OS4.1 CD is broken (burn it on another machine onto another CD...). Or this happens to me often:
CD-Drive is somehow broken (my one only boots if the sam is already running for an hour or so... strange....). I for example cannot boot from CRUXPPC CD, whereas other user can without having a kernel panic... maybe check SATA cables, and unplug them...
Just a few thougts, should be Hardware related problem. Ah one more... not Hardware related. Try to lower Transfermode in UBoot for your Drives. Search for "DMA" here or on AW.

@Elwood
Hey just wondering, in your Video you showed a A1 second Level Bootloader. Is this really a SAM ? I thougtht SAM uses Parthenope for that ?
What movie format did you play ? From DVD ? I tried using Totem on my SAM, and it doesn't really move (maybe 5 frames a minute....)
Infos welcomed

Hi everybody,
I am planning to buy an all in one printer for my WinXP and my Amiga SAM (OS4.1 as well as Linux). Should be connected via network maybe plus USB. Therefore should be a color Laser Printer with Postscript. Anybody an idea ? Do you suggest a certain manufacturer ? (Because of Linux/compatible Betascan drivers ?) At the moment I am looking at:
OKI - MC560 Kodak ESP 9 Kyocera FS-C1020MFP Epson CX21NF Lexmark X544N Brother 9450CDN
Whereas the last two models are prefered, because they are cheaper. No Idea if there is a HP model...
Thanx for advise or ideas

WEBSCAN ON HP 7410 doesn't work ANYMORE !!! in 3.6....
Up to today I used OWB 3.5 ... great !!! For scanning Images with my SAM Amiga I usally enter IP Adress of my Scanner into OWB, and I get a Scanning Web Interface. There I will have a preview button and a Scan Button. Both worked fine in 3.5 and delivered me a new Window with the picture, which I then clipped...
When pressing the buttons in 3.6 they donnot work... nothing happens. ???
When pressing the "Preview" button in 3.5, it changed to "Previewing" until scan finished, in 3.6 it doesn't do that.
Any Idea ???
24bit pic clipping was a good Idea in 3.6, but sadly I have to switch back... (for a while a least... ?)

@joerg
O.k. just tried that with multiview. I didn't know until now, that there is such a tooltype (CLIPBOARD) for Multiview. But there is some strange behaviour, but probably not due to OWB:
The Image I copied via OWB is displayed perfectly in MultiView... BUT not in fxPaint or FinalWriter. If I save the Image in Multiview and reopen it in e.g. fxPaint still same problem... I also tried to do that with pictures from my digicam... even after resaving them in Multiview they can perfectly be displayed in fxPaint. I uploaded the same Image into the web. Copied it throught OWB and pasted -> stripes again.
What happens to the Images (Imageformat) when they get up- or downloaded ?
Thanx for Infos...

Choice.... !!! Well, I promise to donate some money, if you include donwloading files. Just one problem:
If I copy pictures, and paste them e.g. to fxPaint or FinalWriter. I get "lines" through the pictures, is that a bug ?
greetings and thanx thanx a lot for this great software... cannot belive that Amiga is moving that fast at the moment (OS4 classic OS4.1 SAM, Aone, Pegasos II, OWB, new SDK, proper DVD burning....)

@TheDaddy
I probably would buy one, if it looks like your minimig case or similar. But I already ordered a white PSILE Case with my SAM. But somehow they cannot deliver the case at the moment, so if you are fast....

@Elwood
Thanx for Infos, what about installing OS4.1 on Harddrive, then plugging it out and connecting an empty one instead for LINUX -> Install. Unplug DVD in favour of the OS4.1 Harddrive. Plug DVD/CD somewhere else (so DVD/CD not bootable any more...). Can I have a hardrive instead of a bootable CD/DVD ?

Any news on this ? Is it possible to select Harddrive in UBoot or wherever, so that I can install Debian on another Harddrive than OS4.1 ???
