@AmiGame

I use UH-Hosting (www.uh-hosting.co.uk). Never had problems.

@Jack

You still have to "draw" into a screen when you use overlay, because you have to write a rectangle (or other shape) of the overlay colour.

The colours would come out right, but it would only work on high or truecolour modes, and if thats the case, you could achieve the same by detecting the screenmode pixel format and not using pens for rendering.

Extreme potential for what? Its hardly going to revolutionise music making.

Cool toy, though.

There is a pretty simple OSD command included with HauppaugeIR on my website. I have no idea if it works on OS4 (HauppageIR itself definately won't, but OSD might).

Video of OWB & IBrowse running on OS4

Someone on amiga.org said that browsing the web on even the most expanded Amigas is "torture" and "useless".

I thought that was going a bit far, so I made this video of IBrowse and OWB running on OS4. First on my AmigaOne XE-G4, then on my Amiga 4000.

I figured people here might be interested in seeing it too:

Browsing the web on the amiga

Sorry for the quality, i filmed it on my phone.

I would put the original 150Mb file online, but i don't want to pay for the bandwidth, so if someone else wants to host the original .mp4 file, let me know.

The NatAmi60 is fast, very fast, very, very, very fast!!!

Is it? Have you actually used one?

With the proposed 68070 FPGA without an MMU, it'll be faster still!

Wow, they're cloning the 68070? The 68070 was a pile of crap! It was around the same performance as the 68000

Quote:

So, what are the reasons that Hyperion could not recompile AOS4.x to 68K?

The NatAmi will not be as fast as a PC, and PCs are faaaaaaaar less obscure and more plentiful, so if there WAS a switch away from PPC, that would be the obvious choice, even taking the NatAmi into account.

@Atheist

At best, a NatAmi based console can compete with ?10 TV toy type games at retail.

Except that it is likely to cost about the same as a Wii to buy.

Nobody except hardcore amiga enthusiasts are going to spend that much cash on any off-the-shelf FPGA based board simply because you're not getting the performance for your money.
