@Mikey_C

I nominate Chris Young (for all of the cool stuff that is found at www.unsatisfactorysoftware.co.uk).

He is, of course, also the one working on NetSurf---the super fast CSS capable browser.

@joerg

Posting this from 2.7:

It just keeps getting better and better!
The tooltypes for the browser display width/height as opposed to the window width/height gave me a little trouble for a while (trial and error eventually got the numbers right). There are all kinds of graphical corruption problems when the browser dimensions exceed the window dimensions; but once I got that corrected, everything has been looking nice.

Keep up the good work!

@joerg

2.4 works really well here.

I'm pleased that each additional window only takes about 9 MB of ram! (I was afraid that it was going to be a lot worse.)

@joerg

So if we ?A1 owners could remove the on-board Radeon 7000, then we could use the PCI slot with a better graphics card?

Anyone out their brave enough to try this? (not me )

Thank you much for continuing to enhance OWB for OS4!

It is, certainly, coming along nicely!

Re: Tester needed

Not too shy to talk

@Jack

Everything that you want your program to do (relating to TuneNet) could be accomplished easily through ARexx if Bean would add an ARexx port to TuneNet, and include such commands as:
GETSONGTITLE
GETDURATION
GETTIME
GETSTATUS (returning either 'PLAY', 'PAUSE' or 'STOP')
GETPLAYLIST
SORTPLAYLIST (by the various tags available)

...and, of couse, some common ones like:
PLAY
PAUSE
STOP
PLAYNEXT
PLAYPREV
SEEK
VOLUME

So Bean (wherever you are) would you consider adding ARexx support for TuneNet?

I would like to nominate Tuomas Hokka ("TSK"). He has already uploaded 20 original apps to OS4 Depot.

Cool! In that case, I resubmit Photogenics and/or TV Paint.

@TMTisFree

I hate to add to this off-topic discussion, but you should know that James has already added an ARexx port to WookieChat; so it should just be a matter of asking him to add the commands that you need.

@Mason

I'm really only asking for one icon---even though it might look like I'm asking for 3

What would you think about making icons for Photogenics or TV Paint? I know that these are not native OS4 apps, but they run well in OS4, and I use them often.

But if it needs to be a native OS4 program, then I would ask for an icon for ProperCropper.

Thanks!

Not addressing the case with OWB specifically, but generally speaking, if you choose to ignore DSI errors, you risk running into system instability.

@klesterjr

I think it is really great that you are doing some icons with Mason's drawer style in addition to your own. For those of us that use Mason's drawers predominately it makes it easier (maintaining continuity) to benefit from your artistic contributions as well.

Keep up the good work!

OWB 1.18 can now be downloaded or auto-updated through AmiUpdate.

The scroll jumping problem when typing in text areas has been fixed, and a couple additional features connected to file downloading were added.

Thanks Joerg!

Re: Pointer issue

@MamePPCA1

You might have a png pointer overriding your system prefs.

Open this drawer:
SYS:Prefs/Env-Archive/Sys

Next check for these files:
def_busypointer
def_pointer

If either of these files exist, delete them, and you should have the mouse pointer you desire.

Does anyone know about getting REALLY long addresses to work in PEB's address book? I'm talking about address for eBay motors that span 4-6 lines when editing the addresses in Notepad. Even dnet won't work if I put in an address beyond the simple stats.dnet.com or whatever it is that gets us to the first page. If I try to use an address to take myself directly to the OGR page, or -worse yet- directly to my personal stats on the OGR page, it just sits there, like the address wasn't even entered.

I had Paul send me the problem URLs and found that the problem was not with the length of the URL, but in the use of the equals sign ("=")---ARexx does not like the use of this symbol in text strings. Thanks to some help from Chris Y., a work around has been found and is implemented in the new version on OS4 Depot (v. 1.3).

If anyone finds any addresses that do not work, let me know, and I'll try to find a way to get them working.

Re your addressbook, could it possibly be linked to a button on the navigation panel?

Hi Allan,

Yes, a button to launch the AddressBook in the navigation bar would be nice. I just sent a message to Joerg (along with another donation) asking him if he would consider adding a button that could be used to start any third-party application (the path to which could be configured in a OWB tooltype, like the home page button). He is the one, though, who can make this happen (if he wants to)...I can't.
