@nubechecorre

The only options needed:
VSYNCMIN=50
VSYNCMAX=85
HSYNCMIN=30000
HSYNCMAX=82000

the @60 = Hz & can be changed according to the VSYNC min/max range.

Those are the settings for my monitor, so use your own settings. The HSYNC settings can be touchy, so play with the them if a mode doesn't work.

Re: Strange error

@Antique

I believe in having 2 HDs in my system, the second to backup the first. All my partitions are sfs & its been over a year or more since I've had any errors. What I do know is that I was able to copy everything off the partition, re-format it & copy back. I had my boot partition using ffs, but system crashes would cause it to become un-validated, drove me nuts waiting for it to validate all the time. I'll stick with sfs for speed & my backups as any errors just don't happen that often.

There's a good chance he's still in PIO mode. I don't have a SAM, so maybe start there & get him into DMA mode

@tommo1975

Read the "ide" document that came with the software, maybe you can figure it out.

@tommo1975

Could be copy protection, the movie industry started producing DVDs that won't play on PCs.

Grab dvddvplayer.lha off OS4 Depot, it's for playing copy protected DVDs. Worth a shot. It replaces the existing dvplugins file.

Yes, just load S:Startup-Sequence in a text editor (NotePad) & edit the existing line. This is an old problem. With the original line, the boot sequence stops until a net connection is made. If theres a problem, it will keep trying until it connects or gives up before it continues to boot. By adding the "run" command, it will attempt a net connection in the background & continue to boot up. The down side is a short delay before the net can be used after bootup, usually 5 sec or less. I use a fixed IP on my micro, so the delay is to short to notice.

@tommo1975

In your Startup-Sequence, change the network line to this:

Run >NIL: C:AddNetInterface QUIET DEVS:NetInterfaces/~(#?.info)

Other wise, the bootup will hang waiting for the net connect.

Re: how to save the Ram Disk icon position once for all

@thomas

I've been using the soft link method for a while now. What I would like to do is auto delete the underlined "disk.info" file in ram after bootup. I was able to do this with the default info file, but not with the soft link file. I can delete it manually after bootup, I just like ram to be clean, that info file bugs me.

I tried adding a delete line at the end of the startup-sequence, but it's ignored

Re: Speed of PCI slot on Micro A1

@Ruud

The micro manuel claims 2GB, but good luck getting more then a 512MB dimm to work right. You can buy a cheap one, but it most likely will cause random crashes. A tested dimm will cost more ($150 ish), but worth knowing you have known good memory.

There is a app called memtester on OS4 Depot to test the memory. Can take 14 hrs to test a 512MB dimm, but if it passes at least 1 loop, you can feel good about your you memory.

512MB is the highest tested memory, anything high can appear to work, but most likely won't pass the memory test. I have 512MB & it fills my needs so far.

@Ruud

Good thing you mentioned GFX cards, as others said, they don't work in the micro, not happy about that.

I have heard that one will work in a micro if USB is disabled. I'm sure, if true, its not without problems. Be nice to hear from those that tried to get one working, failed or not.

In any case, that is of course no bug and for sure not a bug of OS4. Case closed.

You're right, its not a 4.1 bug. I finally tracked it down to amrss, seems it's outputting debug code or something. I was told it was Italian, so that narrowed the hunt down.

Thanks

Has anyone tried using the C:dumpdebugbuffer with OS4.1?

I get an output thats not in English. Below is just a small text output I get when run.

Not too shy to talk

It's with great sadness that I have to inform the Amiga community the passing of Asha DeVelder on Jan 3, 2009. Many will remember her as moderator of the FidoNet International AMIGA Echo. She attended many of the early Amiwest shows in Sacramento, so some of you may have had the fortune to have meet her in person. She hosted a Sunday night irc chat every week for many years where friends could get together & enjoy each others company. I'm proud to say I was part of her World & she was part of mine.

I & many others will miss you sweetheart..

Am I missing something? I assumed he was talking about the second button from the right on a window title bar. If it is, then the zoom state works for me as I described. I don't know of any other zoom button.

The zoom button can have 2 states. Set the window size for the first state, then click the zoom button & set the window size for the second state. You should then be able to go back & forth between the 2 by clicking on the zoom button.

The clock only shows the problem, I can reproduce it with the Transmission GUI open on the WB. It seems to be a compositing issue as I can turn that feature off & I can drag icons again.
