Re: Trouble with Nightlong

I have the 1.1 PPC but seems I may have deleted 1.2 PPC can anyone remember what the difference is? I think it had something to do with 16 bit but was never stable on system, only 1.1 was stable.

There are a few PC speakers or 2.1 with optical input if 5.1 set-up is not needed.

Just making user(s) aware as optical input on 2 or 2.1 speakers set-up are not that common and is normally found on 5.1 or above speakers set-up.

With the changes that's gone on,more drivers should be added as standard in the next release of OS4.x to get users online.

My A1200 has not being online for about 3 to 4 years and in a way force users to go online in-order to receive updates. I have always got my updates & download via a PC for my classic amiga.

For the fun of it I tried Timberwolf on my A1200PPC. It needs 3m 56sec to start and show the window (first start), 1m 3sec until it finish the load of the first two tabs and 2m 21sec to load amigans.net. Considering that it has a 10mbps lan card attached on PCMCIA, this is not so tragic for a computer with 175Mhz CPU, PIO-4 on hard disk, slow bus and memories. I wonder how a PC would get with such specifications.

Thats impressive for a blizzard ppc. I will give it a go on my card 344Mhz which has one of the highest ever recorded ram bandwidth (256Mb) on a classic amiga. Faster than a cyberstorm even with its 64bit.

Nice scores for your blizzard PPC. Nice work.

on my 366MHz cyberstorm I put in a CVision PPC and got the following for video bus:

---> VIDEO BUS <---
READ: 5 MB/Sec
WRITE: 18 MB/SEC

I tried changing the ram to 60ns but it basically made no difference in the test results, about 1MB/sec faster on the L1/L2 cache but that's it.

Prometheus going over Zorro gets lame write speeds (due to Zorro crap bus) ;)

But the Voodoo still feels a bit faster than CVision PPC...probably way fater gfx memory on-board and faster gfx chip than CVision PPC...

its not my card its from other users in this thread. iv not yet posted my result but expect my card to be a lot faster due to very high PCI bus speed and should hold number one spot in the world for classic amiga PPC card.

you wiil need to compare your results with other Cyberstorm users.

EDIT: the following cards are not mine but from other users in this Thread.

bppc/603e@330/256mb (70ns)

RAGEMEM v0.37 - compiled 11/06/2010

CPU: 603e 7.4609 @ 0 Mhz
Caches Sizes: L1: 16 KB - L2: none - L3: none

---> VIDEO BUS <---
READ: 5 MB/Sec
WRITE: 15 MB/Sec

NOTE:
Under morphos 1.4.5 w OS4Emu the results are pretty much the same except of MIPS (522) and VRAM write (22mb/sec).

RAGEMEM v0.37 - compiled 11/06/2010

CPU: 604e 9.516 @ 233 Mhz

WRITE32: 53MB/Sec
WRITE64: 53MB/Sec
WRITE: 86 MB/Sec (Tricky)

Cyberstorm vs Blizzard video bus interesting speed will post my card when i have time.

it also clear whats slowing down the Blizzard card which is no surprise.

BUMP

im still looking for information on how to overclocked the Bvision under 4.0 on classic.

UPDATE: first and only Bvision in the world to have 250Mhz RamDac but i need the above information to continue this project as i need to know if there is any problems under OS4.0.

the standard still remains for my other two Bvision 100Mhz (hopefully to become standard for all Bvision/Cvision).

Bvision with 250Mhz RamDac operates above 100Mhz but is classed as unknow at this time awaiting more test. card working with very high PCI bus (speed not yet posted in any thread).

*Warning* do not try this on your GFX card.

nice card, how did you damage the MACH IC?

perhaps your card may be better off with a BGA socket like one of my cards which also has a patent pending cooler.

Re: PPC games on OS4, please help
Just popping in
Just popping in

any ppc game that works on OS4.0 i can`t see it not working on OS4.1.

just drag the hole game from a old installation but before doing i find it *important* to run the game and save it software mode otherwise when you try to run it under OS4.x it does not work.

Heretic II is one of the games that i find must be set-up under 3.x in software mode under 3.x. it should then run under 4.x.

then add anything that mite be missing in the LIBS user-startup and ENV.

look in env under 3.x you will see the following draw for the following games if you have installed them

Shogo,Heretic II and Quake II

you may have to select *show all* from workbench to see the draw.

copy it to OS4.x ENV

if the game still fails then try droping the LIB file for that game in the OS4.x system LIBS.

you find the LIBS files in the game DIR or on the game CD.

you also need *WARPEMU* download from OSDEPOT.

i had lots of problems getting it to work but their do work and see no reason why it should not work on OS4.1

one last thing i also found that Shogo must also be set-up in software mode under OS3.x before transfer, otherwise it just won`t work.
