Yup another random thread from me. My current wish list for games and apps for amigaos4.1 :

1. UnrealTournament

2. Doom 3

3. Quake4

4. An emulator for amigaos4.1 to run all classic amiga1200 games without a glitch. I have hundreds of amiga1200 games i wish to run before the floppys die a horrible death.

6. Firefox = OWB Getting there, but not quite yet.

7. OpenOffice

8. Webcam Software

9. Video Editor software like adobe premier

10. An social networking client support live feeds from twitter, facebook. Able to post tweets and monitor tweets and facebook events in real time. Allso includes all major protocols like msn, irc, yahoo etc.

11. A wave editor like adobe audtion. Allso supports all major file formats, mp3, ogg etc.

12. Xchat/clone = Wookiechat (One milestone completed)

All though this is probably an old post, "the green bug issue" has been fixed since the quick fix release. Im playing quake 3 on full high graphics and BSU fine no problems now. As for quake 2 it should work fine no problems.

My thoughts are as follows:

Google Chrome will just be another over hyped linux distro nothing special - unless google can impress me with something i havent seen before, then Im not going to switch. Saying that , if and when google release ChromeOS all eyes will be on google for a month and probably have 20% (considering how big they are as a company) of the os market for a short time only. It will be a fase which will die out faster than it started with.

Should change the TOS to "This site supports only the development of AmigaOS4x and onwards. Unless topic is in too hot for handle." Or something like that. I am allso getting fedup of x86 now in the past i thought it was a good idea but now I have tasted what amigaos4.1 has to offer, and i am a very happy sam440ep amiga user only.

Ok If there not targeting AmigaOS4.1 as a desktop os then why call it an os? Alot of people are going to get confused big time by that statement. As normal folk consider the name Amigaa os as "desktop os" , if that makes any since?!? (Its a friday my brain is confused.com) lol.

Id re-think what you just said carefully mike, java is still very important espically for websites that use it. I know quite a few that require it still and with out would be useless.

Just thought I share this now I have the QuickFix installed.


Games:

ChromiumBSU = Works fine 9/10 slight lag on high detail but no big issue.

Quake3 = Works solid. 10/10 for that one!

Payback = Still bug's no keyboard control in menu. Not os4's fault.


WebBrowser:

OWebBrowser = Major improvement, speed is very good. Still crashes occasionally on certain websites.


Os4Performance = Feels like a complete OS no lag. I had small lag issues (this was down to ati driver issue) now they have been all cleared up, thanks to the QuickFix.

However, I have noticed a couple of applications no longer working since the install, milky tracker, and a couple of others which I cant think off atm as I am at work.

IRC=

Wookiechat= Improvement on speed and feels more solid.

Overal very pleased with the quick fix. Thankyou hyperion.
