Re: SDK 54.16 versus codebench

@geennaam
But how can the SDK be responsible for something like that? The way Codebench manipulates the files, I guess, is a matter of it only. Unless it relies on a specific binary which changed its behaviour.

About using the clib2, what problems do you get with that? On my tests that works the same as it used to work.

I think we started derailing the topic. Would you please open a new topic and continue the discussion there?

@afxgroup
Last week I tested that, downloading the latest version, but this didn't help with clouflare unfortunately. Have you tested that and works?

@levellord
There is a syntax file for Hollywood already in the Addons folder of the release. You need to enable it.
I introduced it some time ago. There is an AmigaGuide file as well.

In the Addons folder, there are language_hws.lua and language_guide.lua files. These need to be copied into your .config/lite-xl/plugins/.
These are described in the README_Amiga.md file.

Today I released a new version of LiteXL v2.1.1r1. Is more like a maintenance release with a few fixes and extra plugins.

You can check what this release brings at
https://ko-fi.com/post/LiteXL-2-1-1r1-released-C0C1I9ABJ
gemini://gem.walkero.gr/ko-fi/LiteXL-2-1-1r1-released.gmi

You can download it from my repo at
https://git.walkero.gr/walkero/lite-xl/releases/tag/v2.1.1r1
from the Gemini page above
and soon from the OS4Depot and MorphOS-storage

Hope you like this version and is useful for you.

Re: How to get rid of AmigaDOS popup at boot up?

Search your startup-sequence and user-startup to find something that tries to run from the System: partition. If you find it, change it to what you have now.
If this is not the case, check the WBStartup prefs to see if any of the programs tries to run from system. If so remove it and add it again from the right partition.
If you use AmiDock or any other dock, check if any of the entries are looking for System partition. If yes change it.

Hello everyone.
As I mentioned before, I run some benchmarks with Lightwave on different systems, with the Lightwave scenes unchanged.

You can find the results and some findings of my own at

and at the

@Futaura
I missed that. Thank you for mentioning it here, so it is clear for everyone.

@ktadd
Thank you so much for your reply. I think that everything you say is quite valid. Having a third app just to see the specific pages is a downside, I agree with you.

I will continue posting on ko-fi and my personal blog as frequently as possible. My intention is to copy all the new posts to my capsule as well, for those that would like to use the Gemini protocol.

To be honest with you, I am not sure how many people are going to use the Gemini and if this will be actually something that will grow with more people using it globally. It is just like many things we like to do, experiment and play with.

@ktadd
Actually IBrowse is free with some limitations, but there is also AmiGemini which is free.

The problem for me is not creating a page where I can post my texts as I have on my blog at https://walkero.gr. Ko-fi is necessary for making it easy for those who want to support my work like you generously did in the past.

Also, using Gemini is an alternative way to communicate, which can run on any Amiga just fine. It is also an interesting topic to tinker with in your free time.

Find my ko-fi posts on Gemini

Site Builder

I recently created a page on the Gemini protocol where I copied all 2022 posts of mine that I made on ko-fi. Because ko-fi currently is not working well on any OS4 browser, I think the Gemini protocol is the best for everyone to access, with the minimum required resources. But if you want to support my work, you still need to visit my https://ko-fi.com/walkero page and do so.

You can visit a Gemini capsule with AmiGemini and IBrowse, and you can find my capsule at gemini://gem.walkero.gr/

Please, let me know what you think about Gemini and if this would be something you would use more and more to get informed.

Re: Lightwave benchmark for users with PPC, 060, PiStorm, Vampire accelerators

It's interesting that this happened, because yesterday I run with some friends Lightwave benchmarks on different systems like you mentioned above, but with the benchmark scenes not modified. This way, in my opinion, you can be sure that you have the same testing point everywhere.

I also contacted Kevin to help with these tests, but it seems what he did in that video is not useful for my benchmarking, because he changes the scenes.

Today, I am going to run some more tests and then I can provide the results if you want.

Just to get an idea of where PPC computers like the X5000 stand, some time ago I did a benchmark of the unmodified scenes, which you can see below:

Re: WebKit based browser initiative

@Hans
Sorry for my late answer, but the last 3 days I was involved at the Amiga Ireland event.

Our goal is to tie as less as possible the WebKit engine we port with any application, no matter if that is a browser, an email client or anything else. I believe that this is doable. Now, if the way to do it is by creating a simple class like a webview, then that's what we are going to do. In any way our first goal is to create a simple window showing a single page, and a webview should be necessary I guess.

I am also thinking that we could have stand-alone apps with specific applications, i.e. a vector graphics app or a UML app, that could run like a native application. Something like what electron is for the other systems. That would be cool, right?

Last week, when I was working on the project, I was compiling the full WebKitty project. I believe that we all gonna have a better idea of what we are capable to have at the end of it.

@everyone
You can track the progress we make at

That's a big project and quite necessary for us. Thank you so much for doing so.

Wouldn't it be easier to start with the adtools version and gradually update it to newer versions?
