I had the exact same thing happen to me - it turned out to be the brick PSU - the additional load of the accelerator must have been to much for its hardened power arteries. bty - I learned the hard way always to use an A500 PSU whenever I accelerated anything Amiga.

No, I'm serious. It's free, just give me a bit of notice if you want it so I can pick it up.
You can use it under 3.0 as long as you don't partition it past the 4GB limit.

@Fuzion
Now, that's a great idea!
I always loved to pop in sourceforge to see if certain bugs have already been fixed on interesting projects...
Amiga-only projects would alse be THE idea, because betatesters can provide bugreports to one tracker and would'nt have to deal with many different...

I've always liked the idea of a Source Forge like development progress report thing... But one that just houses AmigaOS projects.
Updated either by using an RSS like news feed from the main project website or directly here on Amigans.net, I'm not sure which would be the most appropriate.
I have the vision of having a feature list & a sort of percentage done for each, bug tracks & the wonderful eta which we all know & love.

There was a thread about the yellowing on A.org a while back.
Somebody used some sort of cleaner and left the case to soak (obviously stripped the machine) and it came up as new.
Sorry, don't have a link.
Cheers, Rude!

@sundown You were right, Scout reveals that after closing IBrowse, a task called 'IBrowse' remains active. If I freeze or remove it, the system goes back to normal speed. @poweramiga I think you should do as I did - get Scout from OS4Depot, install it and use it to kill the 'IBrowse' task. No more unnecessary rebooting! @Severin Hard disk (SFS) partition faster than RAM Disk you say? I have always thought real RAM would be faster, but this is no longer true? Or is it a AmigaOne/OS4 specific thing? Anyway, thanks for the tip, I shall setup the cache to a small SFS partition I already have (I call it "The JunkYard" ).

Its not the CPU imho. CIA chip or the I/O chip possibly?
The 68020 is soldered on to the mobo and pretty ahrd to replace if at all - the 68030 accelerator should override the internal processor anyway.
Because this uses surface mount technology, it might be difficult to repair - can anyone confirm whether any of the chips are removeable?
Have you tried making sure the ROMS chips are in position by pushing them down? Take antistatic precautions.

Hi!
I tested my Blizzard 1230 accelerator on my recently bought A1200. When I turned the power on the power led is lit up but the disk drive dosent start to "tick" and the screen is all black. I removed the accelerator and turned the power back on. But the screen is still black. Have I ruined my new Amiga? My thought's are that I fried the CPU or the IO chip. And if I did is it possible to buy an 680020 processor today or the IO chip? I don't know where to start. Please help me!

I am thinking about going over to compile OS4 only.
The thing is that I on the one side can't use any of the new features for a 3.x build. And by now ignoring the extended feature-set of OS4 would be a shame.
And since I switched over to Reaction I have the problem that for my use of it there are way too many bugs or flaws in the old 68k classes that will never be fixed. Some can be worked around, some not.

There's just this special something about comment #18 that I just like so very, very much. This place is an excellent peaceful retreat where we'll be able to hear from genuinely constructive people without them getting drowned out, and get things done for a change.

Enjoy!
By the time a Marine pulled into a little town, every hotel room was taken.
"You've got to have a room somewhere," he pleaded. "Or just a bed, I don't care where."
"Well, I do have a double room with one occupant - an Air Force guy," admitted the manager, "and he might be glad to split the cost. But to tell you the truth, he snores so loudly that people in adjoining rooms have complained in the past. I'm not sure it'd be worth it to you."
"No problem," the tired Marine assured him. "I'll take it."
The next morning the Marine came down to breakfast bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. "How'd you sleep?" asked the manager.
"Never better."
The manager was impressed. "No problem with the other guy snoring, then?"
"Nope, I shut him up in no time" said the Marine.
"How'd you manage that?" asked the manager.
"He was already in bed, snoring away, when I came in the room," the Marine" explained.
"I went over, gave him a kiss on the cheek, said, 'Goodnight, beautiful,' and he sat up all night watching me."

@Sister_Rita
You can create a forum topic asking for information about something, and hopefully one of the developers involved will see it and reply. The Friedens are registered here as well as many other people involved in the development of OS4, etc. But of course keep in mind that most developers are extremely busy with most of their time reserved for software development so they may not notice your question.

I am a bit rusty as far as NG Amiga is concerned. I am mainly using an A500 and A600-30 HD at home. I didn't really keep up. I thought the AmigaOne was the Eyetech version of the Zico. Anyway - keep up the good work!
