A bigger market may have allowed the new Radeon HD V5.x
development costs to be recovered from new sales of Enhancer 2.2 if it had been included as part of the package.
But not likely with the current AmigaOS 4.1 market and RadeonHD user base .

The new high development cost component released as a single item is probably the only thing that makes financial sense currently .

Both of you are describing some aspects of my experience.
However my motherboard was working when I received it .

Last week I received an offer for an upgrade to an X5000/40 board based on a credit for the damaged x5000/20 board which I have accepted.

I had received an initial offer for a discounted replacement for the original board in July 2019 which I had not taken up .
The original board purchased in July 2017 died in October 2018.

Sounds unusual for a newly received motherboard from Amigakit.
They are supposed to run each board hard for some days before shipping .

Specifically relating to video play back no enhancements
for anything except Radeon SI cards (HD 7000 series).
So nothing new for Radeon HD 6000 series and earlier.

For the Radeon SI cards we are seeing full hardware accelerated video playback for videos up to 720p.
1080p not working well from reports from X1000 users with
release version of the driver and Sam460ex beta tester from earlier versions of driver.

No reports from any X5000 users yet.

2K and 5k are for Radeon Rx.
Your 720p and 1080p playback results are more or less
what I observed when testing with a Radeon HD.
Was with a Sam460ex so I was hopping that the faster machines
would be able to squeeze the extra performance to allow 1080p to work.

I can confirm the same freeze issue on loading with MaceTD2 as with Spencer with the Radeon Rx 2.11 driver on my Sam460ex .

While testing the Radeon HD 5.x driver and hardware acceleration on a Sm460ex I experienced an immediate crash when using
Emotion. Had sent an email about it to Goos in March this year.

We have spotted a problem with Spencer on Sam460ex and the Radeon RX V2.11.
Confirmed by Javier and myself today and reported to Hans.

Yeah right. Now we can use the latest one... just needs to be ported again ;)I have it on my todo list. With the new version, newer codecs such as h265 are also possible via hardware
