What I would like to ask is if you save in Undo only the part that is changed or the whole sample in its previous state.

Of course Rave only saves the damaged part, not the entire sample.

There's more to this than just "affordable hardware".

There's always more of course. But without relatively cheap hardware options that could bring new users, combined with the fact that A-EON are apparently unable to repair failing AmigaOne hardware, we're straight on a collision course.

Bad that there is a now people who would like to produce large amounts Amiga OS4 compatible hardware, but software is a problem.

No, our problem No. 1 is affordable hardware that would help extend the userbase. The software situation on OS4 is not that bad, except for the web browser of course.

Re: Introducing the Rear Window blog

Rave version 1.3 can now be downloaded from os4depot.

NEW IN THIS RELEASE (1.3):

- Unlimited Undo, with an option to use the Extended Memory Objects framework.
- Added support for WAV files containing IMA ADPCM-encoded data.
- Faster processing, loading and saving of long samples thanks to optimizations
in the sndeditor.gadget.
- Fixed: The list of assigns in the file requester got improperly sorted under
certain conditions.
- Fixed: Applying Mute didn't change the project status to modified, so the Save
function remained unavailable.
- Fixed: Pasting mono data from the clipboard into a stereo project didn't work.
- Fixed: Auditioning a right-channel selection always played left-channel data
by mistake.
- Fixed: The channel mixing code in Convert Channels was broken and produced
some distortion.
- Updated program documentation.

there is "unlimited Undo", so , you did it in end ?:) I remember Undo was on of hard things to implement.

Yes, it took about three weeks in August to implement it. I'm currently finishing a new blog article in which I give more details
about how I did it.

Quote:
is there shortcuts like "ctrl+x" or "ctrl+x" or something to undo things as well ?

The cross-platform standard for Undo is CTRL-Z, so Rave has RAmiga-Z because of the old Intuition menu convention.

Confirmed by one of the OS4 developers, who promised to have a look at the bug as soon as he gets some time.

Why would you be afraid of that? Both ASL and the string.gadget are OS4 components, so Hyperion/OS4 devs are the people to go to.

That sounds like a known bug in the string.gadget, which so far has only manifested itself when combined with the Radeon RX driver newer than version 1.12. Is your gfx card an RX?

I ordered new RadeonHD V5. Somebody have to pay it. If it will be free of charge, there will be no modern drivers.

No one is disputing, or has ever disputed, that things have to be paid for and that developers need to get their due. It goes without saying.

The problem is that users are apparently confused about what to buy and what they get for their money. Threads like this one pop up several times a year asking about features, requirements, discounts and upgrade paths. AmigaKit has a website, a wiki and a blog; so how come the driver developer himself needs to step in to explain things? This is all very wrong.

I am really having a hard time sending this board back to France - my only option - as my 'Spidey Senses' say I'll never see it or anything again. It is too late to dispute the sale with my bank, I checked. What would you do? Would you send out your motherboard with only a promise that it will return someday?

Is the board still covered by warranty? I so then the dealer has a legal obligation to either return a repaired/replaced product, or return your money.

However, before you send out the board, make sure to make a thorough, close-up photographic documentation (confirming that you're sending the board in perfect physical condition) and send it to your dealer's official e-mail address. Just to be on the safe side. I remember reading a story in an Amiga forum where a user sent his X5000 for repairs, and after some time the dealer told him that "liquid and debris" had been found on the board, so they won't repair it. Unfortunately he didn't have any proof of having sent the board in perfect shape, so it was word against word.
