IIRC, I asked if we could expect a speed improvement if we could remove the interpretive 68k emulator and the answer was "no". So the only thing we could gain doing so would be a smaller kernel file.
Exactly. When the user enters the menu to change the configuration and put a CD in the drive, the A1 couldn't boot on the CD when there was not this second boot scan. That's why it was added.
I received the email, clicked on the URL. It says "activated" and when I entered my login/pass on the fields on the left (IIRC), the page loaded in a loop saying "your account was already activated"... :-/
