Sorry, I just realized you're on a SAM, so your file revisions will be different from me, I have a micro.
Other then that, I'm running out of ideas. If you have a boot cd that shows images, all you can do is start comparing files to see whats missing/changed.

It was part of os4.1 update 1. Your snoopy log points to a datatype problem with the "fails" at the end. You should also check that your Libs:datatype.library is v53.4, also part of update 1.

Ok, check Sys:Classes/DataTypes & check that picture.datatype is there & is at version 53.3 for os4.1.2.
We have no idea what your catweasel s/w installed, maybe it over-wrote some datatype files?

@OldAmigan
I was at one point going to transfer my old vinyl records to mp3's. I re-wired my mic input on my case to the line-in on the micro's audio header. I dl'ed AHIRecord (os4 version) off Aminet to record the line-in audio, I monitored the line-out audio. It worked, but there was no easy way to record individual songs. The recording was in AIFF format, so MakeCD could have burned the songs to disk. I also had to buy a cheap little phono preamp to boost the sound, but everything worked with the tests I did, just never had the time to do any transfers.

@cha05e90 Quote: Snoopy was designed for coders. I have never found the right settings to trace path loading. It also scrolls endlessly with the CPUTemp docky running. SnoopDOS does have its problems on os4, but its helped me track down startup problems more then Snoopy ever has. I should look for the snoopy setting to stop CPUTenp docky from being seen, but all the options are greek to users. Edit: Ok, played with the Snoopy options & cleared up a lot of problems with option settings & I'll fine tune it some more over time.

You have a "path" problem, you either moved a directory or you re-named something. SnoopDOS has problems on os4, but works well enough that it might give you a hint.

OWB v3.30 is the first really stable version on my micro to date. Its only locked me up once since I installed it a few weeks ago & that could have just been the overloaded js site I was on at the time. Big thanks joerg for the port & you're hard work.

There is a chance that changing interrupt to "no" could have reduced the current draw on your battery just enough to get it booting right. Fan location has nothing to do with the battery. I wish you guys would invest in a cheap voltmeter to measure the battery instead of guessing. In my case, a battery voltage under 3.0V means I'll have a problem soon with my micro. I do a quick voltage check with the battery in place every time I dust the system out.

@Mikey_C
One theory was if you only used the primary on board ide bus, but not the second ide bus, both front & rear usb ports could be turned on. Another theory was if you commented out all the unused ide drivers in kickstart/layout, both front & rear usb ports could be turned on. I never tested these theories out myself.
I use both primary & secondary ide busses myself, so my rear usb ports are off, never used them anyway.

@GrumpyOldMan
E-uae SDL version on Depot.
You are running the very first OS4.1 release, update to OS4.1.2 & see if your usb problem goes away. Make sure you have a bootable backup first, I can't remember what update caused the usb boot problem, but you might need to turn off the front or rear usb ports to boot after the update, or turn them off before the update.
If PartitionWizard doesn't work on your drive, you might be out of luck.

@GrumpyOldMan
1) What can be connected to the PCI slot (and supported by OS4, of course)? Better graphics card would be nice, but I am also thinking other possibilities like SII0680, Catweasel, TV cards etc.
answer: I had a sii0680ide card in my micro until it quit working (the card) & it would boot off the attached drives. No s/w for TV cards.
2) Are there any HW features/restrictions limiting the usage? I assume the ArticiaS/USB/DMA issues are no longer present in uA1, is this correct?
answer: I have UDMA set to max, the USB port reads my Canon camera & loads the thumbs when plugged in, my 4GB usb flash stick works without problems. There were no h/w fixes on the micro.
3) Does the onboard IDE support PATA/SATA drives?
answer: I have a 400GB pata drive as master, a 160GB pata drive as slave & a pata DVD burner as master on the second on-board buss. SATA drives should work with the right card.
4) Are there any limitations posed by the uA1 hardware I should be aware of?
answer: Only the 32MB gfx memory issue, I run a 16 bit WB with compositing off so I don't run out.
5) Should I be able to connect the old A1 hard drives (assuming they still work) to the Micro and use (even boot) from those?
answer: Your old drive should boot just fine in the micro, everything is the same filesystem wise.
6) What is the latest UBoot MicroA1 can use?
answer: U-Boot 1.1.1 (Mar 3 2005; last public release

The pip driver gives me a pink screen as well on my micro, try the picasso96 driver, that works for me without changing kickstart.
