Meanwhile, I have backed up my "work" partition, however it is too late in the evening to do a format. Most of my 3rd party applications, web browsers and data files are located on that partition.

You only need to do a quick format on modern hard drives.

@Sicky I purchased version 7.60 on 23 Aug 2006, the two archives required were sent to me as attachments, to the following email. Quote: Dear Mr. Swallow, enclosed are archives of TurboPrint disk 1 & 2. Please unpack tp7ps.lha o a directory named "turboprint7" and gnugs403.lha to a directory named "gnugs403". Then make the following assigns from shell
assign turboprint7: work:turboprint7 assign gnugs403: work:gnugs403
Then you can start installation from the workbench by clicking on "install" in the turboprint7 drawer.
Best regards Florian Zeiler So it is possible to install without a floppy.

On my 80gb HD, I have Last LUN checked, and on my 160gb hard drive I have both Last ID and Last Lun checked. Both are recognised on my system.

Quote: I really don't see many bugs, but I think bug fixing is most important. Then perhaps USB 2.0 support so I can buy a USB2 card for my AmigaOne, instead of using the motherboard ports which don't work well. I am willing to pay for that. I totally agree with you, to be able to use a usb2.0 card would be fantastic.

@328gts
Check your Mixer directory, it should have a images directory in there. If not mixer checks for the location of the Images using the imagepath tooltype.
It would appear you have moved/deleted either the image dir, or the relevant images within it.
Hope that helps?

@Chris Quote: That will be so useful. I scan kanji , and edit them in ImageFX to remove the stroke numbers etc, and use BME to convert to dr2d to use them in pagestream. It would be very useful to view them via multiview instead of having to load them inro pagestream, or Drawstudio to view them.

@Rigo
Hi Simon
Is there any difference, relative to OS4, with regards to Sata and Sata 2. The ssd drive is sata 2, so I wasn't sure which card supported that.
Also there was a discussion about using sata blueray writers for back-up (data only), so I had that compatibility in the back of my mind, when I asked the question as well.
Thanks for any pointers.

have a look at this drive Only ?78.98. I never realised solid state drives were this cheap. I have an a1 with a sii0680 card, and I wonder which card (3112/3114) I would need to utilise one of these.

@sundown Quote: Grabbed it, thanks. I know others have asked before how to join video files together. I found the command line for mencoder to do this.
mencoder -oac copy -ovc copy -idx -o output.avi video1.avi video2.avi video3.avi
Some torents come in 2 parts to fit on 2 cd-r's, I use the above line to make one 1.5GB movie file. Just put quotes around files with spaces & add paths. You can add more parts & any video extention should work. I have been trying to work out how to do this. I have some avi files split over three cd's, and didn't know enough about the avi format to know how to combine them into one file.

@Mrodfr Quote: Be carefull. Suffering datas lost on FAT32 medias (OCZ 16gb FAT32 key). The problem I have with using a USB flash drive/key is corruption of the data on the stick when I delete anything on AOS4. I can read and write to the stick, and everything remains intact, and I can transfer files to my IMac. As soon as I delete anything, the usb stick is corrupted. The system doesn't crash, so no crashlog is generated. i have to reformat the stick and start from blank, again.

@kas1e Quote: Imho it must be removed just because its old and must die at all with all those rare freaks and retro fans :)) But if say seriously, having 68k support on kernel level stop aos4 from growing up. I see no problem to just put all that 68k support code to "box", just like win32 with ms-dos support, or macos_some_version with older macos. At the moment 68k is the only productive apps we have, and currently EUAE is not that user friendly. Quote: That will give for aos4 coders more freedom, when they will make aos4 more mature in todays standards. Imho making memory protection, resource managment and alt will not possible with having in mind 68k api support. It may improve the operating system, but it is applications that attract users. Quote: Making it "in box" will solve many problems, and more of it: euae have chipsets support , while petunia are just 68k support, what for new blood/users (which we need) have no sense. Once the Amiga has a larger user base, radical OS changes can be made. What will attract new blood/users will be the applications to do what ever interests them, at the moment classic legacy apps are our only option.

@JosDuchIt
OK, I found Stringins, from Peter Gordon via OS4Depot, and it works.
Do I need to add that to my user startup? Will it only work before running Wordworth? Will it interfere with any other program running under OS4.1upd2?
Thanks for the info.

@JosDuchIt Quote: Hi, i have missed for a long time the numeric keypad with Wordworth (and a PC keyboard) I just found the solution for OS4 which should work for Amithlon and UAE amso
do from a shell run <>NIL: stringins delay=500 keystring="\s\k5A" then position yourself on Wordworth window.
Numeric pad will be switched on. I have just tried that, and I get the following error message in the shell:- Quote: New Shell process 6 6.OS4.1upd2:> run <>NIL: stringins delay=500 keystring="\s\k5A" 6.OS4.1upd2:> stringins: Unknown command stringins failed returncode 10
