Re: Cinema4D

Not too shy to talk

I have now found my original Cinema4D CD, it was in the back of a smaller manual 'CD Edition Addendum'

I have installed it but when I try to register it and put in my serial number I get an error message stating Inadequate information or something like that!

I have two numbers, a serial number and a Magic Link number, I have tried both and filled out all the fields, like name, addtess, telephon number etc!

Anyone have any ides or memories how to solve this?

OK, thanks, seems allright

Which version of MUIOWB are you using?

I have 1.9 (06.08.2010)

EDIT: You might have tried this already, but please redo the following steps

1) Delete *-ppc-amigaos-cache-2 in MUIOWB/Conf/font/
2) Reboot your miggy
3) Start MUIOWB and let the font search run through
4) Close MUIOWB
5) Reboot your miggy once again
6) Start MUIOWB

If the behaviour of MUIOWB searching for fonts still persists there might be something wrong with your OWB install and i can only tell you to reinstall and hope for the best :-/

Yippee that worked at last I didn't need to do the re-boots between before but it has sorted the problem, thank you very much

From a previous question:

On a related note, can somebody remind which file I need to delete to stop MUI-OWB scanning fonts every time it starts up?

Your answer to delete the long file name I remembered and it doesn't work for me now but did previously?

I had to re-install MUIOWB and had the scanning fonts issue and remembered to delete the long file name in MUIOWB/Conf/font/long name -ppc-amigaos.cache-2 but this time round doesn't work for me, it still keeps loading fonts at start-up!

I previously bought Cinema4D but can't find the original disks! I have the manual still and was wondering if I could get a copy from anywhere, have downloaded the demo from Aminet but want the full thing.

Any ideas?

I have a HD4650 (as most people with SAM460's do) and I want 3D. Worse case scenario is having to fork out for a later model but don't see why we should!

Try pressing Ctrl-Alt-M (or go to Exchange then Show "USB MassStorage") to get USB settings program. I don't know what it shows for PTP devicess, but maybe there is an option to force it to mount it as USB mass-storage (perhaps as FAT)?

When I do that I get a window 'USB MassStorages: Hotkey = <control alt m>

Within this window I get:

Name IO DOS Name Filesystem Media Size Device

Ultra HS-COMBO - No medium present - -

At bottom of window have two active buttons, 'Mount' and 'Dismount'

Two inactive buttons 'Filesystem' and 'Format'

When I click on 'Mount' nothing happens!

iPhone on Amiga OS 4.1.5
Not too shy to talk
Not too shy to talk

Was wondering if it's possible to transfer files from an iPhone to Amiga OS 4.1.5?

When I connect my iPhone to my SAM460 USB tells me it's an Apple product and an iPhone so recognises it correctly and then get a 'Picture Transfer Protocol' window open with message

"Failed to open session
-> Invalid parameter"

So was thinking if it possible to write software that can connnect and read files on iPhone?

Re: Reboots cold warm lukewarm?

A cold boot or re-boot is when you turn off the power button or hit the hardware reset switch and the computer boots from 'cold' and loads the kickstart etc.

A warm boot or re-boot is when you use the two Amiga keys and Ctrl keys together.

There are a few utilities available where you can force a cold boot or a warm boot depending on your choice, I am using one that's called Reeboot Now available at OS4Depot.

Only problem I have encountered so far is if I log into Amigans.net with muiowb it says I'm logged in but am not as wont allow me to input anything! But works fine with Timberwolf! So have to use Timberwolf to enter forums on here!
