Hi,
I tried the new MPlayer-GUI version with mickJT-MPlayer working very well, thanks for your work.
I know that I do not use a real amiga, so I try to make what's possible with winuae.
A real amiga machine still has high costs.
I wanted to ask the http: // option in the MPlayer-GUI what is it for?
I tried to insert a youtube link to see a video but it does not seem to work, the video is not opened, I'm missing something or its function is different, thanks for every answer.
I also use SMTube which works very well, but I wanted to know if the function http: // in MPlayer-GUI has a similar function or is this not its function? do I have to insert a particular string like with YT.rexx or something else?

Thank you.

YouTube links are not video files, try it with let's say a wikimedia link that is an actual video file. Or even audio.

I do not know whether HTTPS is supposed to work, but that's what I found: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia ... Video_%28Narrated%29.webm

Hi AlicePPC,
thank you for your suggestion,
smtube and yt.rexx works well.
Too bad for odyssey, it would be nice to have a new version optimized for watching videos, with winuae it would be excellent.
At the moment an X5000 really has a very high price.
I understand the niche and market talk, but with lower prices those who used Amiga many years ago 'would certainly buy an OS as an amiga, I really like it, at the time I always used amiga as a system not as a gaming machine.

Yes, we need new web browser or a big updates in oddyssey or in timberwolf.
Playing yt videos with x5000 is very usable but Smtube works very very good.
If you can not afford the price of x5000 wait for new Tabor A1222.
X5000 is expensive (relative) but is great computer, very fast in Amigaos, morphos and linux, amicynix and for use all classic soft with runiuae JIT.

At the moment the finances are what they are and I have to wait.
But I was looking at Tabor1222 it would be interesting to understand its performance and what it can do.

As you're using UAE you might want something with a lot less overhead than SMTube, Try:

http://os4depot.net/index.php?functio ... le&file=video/misc/yt.lha

Just open a shell and run the arexx script with a youtube link, select the resolution and select play video.

Amiga user since 1985
AOS4, A-EON, IBrowse & Alinea Betatester

Ps. I hate the new amigans website. <shudder>

Thank you for your suggestion,
YT.rexx works very well with all Odyssey NetSurf browser applications etc.
Probably it is a problem of resources allocated wrongly by winuae is still a "beta" for amigaos 4.1, with SMTube I saw that only the first time the download of the video works on the second attempt of the download the program does not seem to work anymore.

I thought it was my mistake of configuration, probably the problem is to be found in winuae.

Thank you for your patience and suggestions.

Although I use winuae I really like using the 4.1 purchased from hyperion.
