Internet News : OS4 Programming Guide: Website Officially Launched

Internet News

Today, the OS4PG team is happy to announce the official launch of the OS4PG website.

[b]Following the discussions in this thread and in this poll, work began some weeks ago on the OS4 Programming Guide.

The main purpose of the website is to help the various contributors work together, share their drafts etc before producing the final guide.

In addition, we are hoping to provide a comprehensive list of other useful sites already out there: all members can add links to the wiki.

If you wish to help out with the OS4PG, please use the website to express your interest. We already have sufficient testers, proof-readers etc, but would welcome more writing contributors.

PS: Hyperion know about us and support what we are doing. There are a number of OS4 developers, beta-testers and 3rd party developers already committed to the project.

PPS: Contributors: now I'm back home, I'll be nagging for your first drafts soon - get writing!

Great!

I love that Limux user initiative known as
"how hard is to work with OS4 for the first time"
has given some results.

However, as non registred user (cannot contribute, not a PPC programmer) I can only see a wishlist. More resources I was able to find in the Linux users wiki page, so at least that shoule be copied to some page avail to everyone.

Also, I suppose Hyperion could help with some docs, some official support would be nice!

@vox
The OS4PG was started some time before the Linux-user thread thingy popped up.

It's more a Contents page, than a "wishlist", although what goes into the guide will of course depend on what our contributors write (eg we need someone to write a chapter on audio/AHI).

You would be very welcome to join the site and add them for us - that's exactly the sort of help we could do with while we focus on writing the guide! "Normal" members can add to the wiki very easily.

As stated in the official OS4PG thread which was linked to in the news item posted above, we have the support of Hyperion and several OS4 developers and beta-testers are actively involved in the project.

More writers welcomed!
