Is there or will there ever be support for USB webcams on Amiga OS4.X? I know we dont have Adobe stuff we can use but what about other ways to get around this?

Are there any currently available web cams that work on our sytems?
SAM 460 with 2GB or RAM, 1000GB HD, 4 port SATA, DVDRW drive and Radeon HD 4650 GFX card.

I have Sonix installed, just want to know what web cams work on Amiga?

As far as I have understood, pretty much all webcams use their own proprietary interface and require a specific driver. Not like masstorage or hid (for keyboards and mouses) which are standardized.

So unless you have a driver for that specific webcam I think it's a no-go, which sucks

As I understand it there were some limitations in the USB stack that prevented some drivers to be ported over, only driver that did not need that feature where possible to ported.
(NutsAboutAmiga)

Basilisk II for AmigaOS4

Excalibur
and other tools and apps.

I have ordered a Macally IceCam Portable which apparently works with Sonix on the Amiga! Will let you know what results I get
