I had a download of Open Office to install to my office WIindoze 7 computer which turned out to be corrupt. All the Windoze computers here at home were in use, so I figured I'd download the installable from Sun on the Amiga and transfer it via USB.

Imagine my surprise when going to opoenoffice.org to have it come up with a page saying it was searching for the AmigaOS current stable version 3.2.1 of open office!! After I got over the initial surprise, I looked close and saw that it was only saying it couldn't find such a file on its server.

But for a while . . .

I guess they just figure out the OS on the inquiring computer and generate a standard reply.

@Paul

Well, it probably takes the OS straight off the user-agent (edit: ... which I now see is basically what you just said at the end). Could see what happens if you're able to modify the user-agent yourself to some fictional OS.
