DVplayer 0.58 (Solved)
Quite a regular

See User information
I know this is a bit sad, as Xmas 2007 is arriving, but I've only just noticed there is a difference between the OS4 special version 0.58, and my registered version of DVplayer 0.58.
The OS4 version has a re-size button to the skin in the bottom right hand corner which is not there in the registered version.

Is this just a non-used, or a non-released feature?
Are we awaiting for this to be released to us registered users?

I am tidying up my hard drive, its surprising what files you collect over time, and I came across os4betaboot.mpg dated 5th Oct 2004. I just double clicked it and it defaulted to the sys:utilities/DVplayer, not to my registered copy, and I noticed the re-size mark. On dragging it, I was amazed DVplayer re-scaled the video accordingly. I have been doing this in MPlayer, but I didn't know DVPlayer did it too.
When OS4 final was released I continued to use the registerd version of DVPlayer so that I could also use it to play .avi files.
I wonder if there is anyway I can implement this feature(re-sizing) on the registered version.

Have you tried reinstalling your registered version?

No, I haven't, but I have just compared the "dvskins" directories, and my registered version is using default.dvskin dated the 18/4/2006. The OS4 Final version is using default.dvskin dated 22/12/2006.

Maybe it'd just a skin problem?

I've just clicked on the image you linked to, and that is the same skin as the OS4 Final version is using. This has been released on OS4Depot as a seperate skin. I hadn't downloaded, or installed this, so that I could visually see which version of DVPlayer was being used. When OS4 final first came out I used the included version of DVPlayer, and didn't install my registered version until I wanted to play some .avi files, and foound I couldn't.

I wonder if thare is another skin with the re-size gadget?

Your right, it's skin "problem" and none other than the
original (12/2006) and the OS4 "SE" skin feature those
resize gadgets.

Took a wuick look on the ones available at OS4Depot and
none seem to have them...

Hi, big apologies, I have been an idiot.

I have 3 installations of DVPlayer on my system:-

1) The OS4Final one in Sys:utilities.
2) The 0.58 registered version in its own directory on sys:
3) and, my registered version on my Work2 partition.

The one on my work2 partition is my Amidock default, and the one I have updated, each time there has been an update.

In my replies to you I have been comparing the dvskins directory from installs 2 & 3. When I installed/updated to version 0.58 the default.dvskin file was not updated/replaced.
The OS4Final version doesn't have a dvskins directory because the default skin is built in. So my mistake, and although the OS4Final and the registered versions have diffrent skins, the default skin for the registered version does have the re-size gadget.

Thanks for all your help, just sorry it was my mistake.
