Re: Who is getting the A1222 Plus?

@Faranheit
Are you notifying the customer as you ship them out or should we expect a surprise when they arrive?

Just wonder if we will be notified upon shipping or if they will just arrive on our doorstep?

NICE!

Did they contact you and let you know it was coming or was it just a big surprise when it showed up?

@sailor

That is exactly the email I saw for about 10 seconds before it disappeared... So looks like some kind of automated system generated thing that for whatever reason recalled it shortly after.

My guess being that I was inquiring while logged in to my work email (so their system does not recognize it) and then it retracted immediately.) Gotta love cloud based systems and what they can do with them today.

So now how do I get that email back so I can respond back to them? I filled out the form you guys recommended so I guess I just wait I some more at this point. Been since 2015 so what is another coupla years right?

Does anyone have a direct email address for this Laurent?

Thanks for the suggestions I tried this form.

Totally getting the runaround from Amigakit as they sent an email THAT I WAS ACTIVELY reading when they recalled it and it disappeared. Then I went back and forth with them saying I didn't order AAA (Yes I did and I even provided a screenshopt of the order from THEIR website.) Then they said OH you didn't register. Umm yes I did 2 YEARS ago and once again I provided a screenshot showing me LOGGED IN to the site. Then they said Oh we don't handle that Amisphere will.

And they refuse to send me the original email that I was reading that had the pricing info on it.

This abortion of a project continues to get worse and worse

@Alkaron

I have to say I like the look and feel and the fact that it appears to be rather clean... Of course part of that is due to the fact that the mainboard is completely bare and nothing is hooked up yet... It will be interesting to see the insides once everything is hooked up and ready to run... (no power supply in the case suggests to me that they may not have the PS nailed down yet...) Anyway, I like the look and feel so far..

One thing that does puzzle me a little is the compactflash being buried in the bottom inside the case meaning that it can't be accessed without cracking the case... (I am not sure what I had been thinking, but I had it in my mind that it would stick out the front of the computer... Even though looking at it now it is quite obvious that it couldn't possibly do that in a standard sized case..) Oh well, my bad ..

Although, on further thought they could certainly plug in some kind of cable to the mainboard and mount a CF socket on the front panel... Anything is possible I suppose...

Kinda weird, but not a big deal for sure...

I want one... :O)

@TonyW

+1

EXACTLY

Not everyone frequents all Amiga sites... And if you have an issue with the same posts.. Don't whine about it, be an adult, take the initiative and decide NOT to open the same question on both sites if it offends you so much...

You have the power my friend...

@Helgis

I think you should submit your resume to A-Eon as a salesperson as you are clearly a believer and would be a great asset to their team!

I too am looking forward to the X1000 and I applaud your excitement and the ability to exude positivity... Keep up the positive posts and don't let the negative nay-sayers tempt you toward the dark side!

Re: DDR2/SATA2/USB2 vs DDR3/SATA3/USB3?

@Helgis

Also folks need to keep in mind that the controller for the memory is probably built into the CPU and I will bet that it will only handle DDR2 memory... (I have also heard that DDR3 is quite finicky and if everything isn't exactly perfect it can actually run SLOWER than DDR2.) Regardless I'll bet that DDR3 can't be controlled by the processor so we have DDR2... (And considering the specs of the CPU and attendant hardware, I doubt that DDR3 would net much benefit anyway...)

As for USB3, I haven't even seen anything released for USB 3 yet... (There probably are some items out there, but why muddy up the driver/software scene any further? ) Give us GOOD stable USB 2.0 drivers for 2.0 items and life will be awesome...

I know that when I build a new PC I always select components that are a few steps below bleeding edge and I end up saving TONS of money... Considering that the X1000 being the niche machine that we all know it is and considering the relatively low volumes, I think they made ABSOLUTELY the correct choice in selecting DDR2 memory and USB 2.0 vs. newer components.. The price is already going to be a sore spot and making it cost even more for such luxuries would be foolish... (And this is just my opinion folks so please don't take offense.)

For those folks that say we need USB3 and DDR3 memory and SATA whatever.... Will you buy an X1000 for let's say $1500? (My best guess at price.) Now if you added all the wants above would you be happier if it cost an additional $500? ($2000) I doubt it, and I wouldn't want to pay the extra myself...

I wonder how many of the folks decrying the hardware are even TRULY looking at buying one?

Launching ADF files off of a HD...
Just popping in
Just popping in

I will apologize immediately because I am certain that this has probably been asked a hundred times, but I have not used a classic Amiga since ... well, the beginning of time I suppose...

Anyway, I have an Amiga 2000HD and I also have quite a few programs that are in .ADF format... I would like to copy them up and run them off the HD... I have copied them up and needless to say they don't launch...

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated...
