@unimon

Thanks for this and that solution does ring bells from previous ocassions when this issue has cropped up. I will have a go at this solution shortly.

@BillE

perhaps I wasn't clear. I've recently purchased a Sam Flex system so am in the process of installing software. This is where I encountered the Wordworth issue regarding hard drive space.

@ALL

On a topic relating to Wordworth and other Digita installs I cannot for the life of me remember what the solution is when you try to install to a hard drive with oodles of space but get the message that you need at least 3.5MB of space. Any advice would be appreciated.

@BillE

Thamks for pointing me in the right direction however I'm obviously a bit rusty - do you type the "rx ....." in a shell ?

I must say I'm hugely disappointed that this is not a straighforward download and cannot understand why (1) you need to modify the .lha file and (2) why nothing happens with OWB.

I need help downloading the update on my Amiga One.
Using OWB nothing happens when I agree to the conditions to download. I switched to iBrowse and the archive downloads however when I run it I get the message "filetype unknown". I have changed the icon information from mulitiview to unARC but when I run it I get the message that the archive has some corruption !! I can't win.

Why was this release not done as an iso file instead of a .lha file as that would make it fairly straightforward using other platforms to create the install CDROM.

Any help on the download issue would be appreciated.

@all

The news just gets even better !!

Update: 27 September 2008
Evert Carton has emailed us to let us know that he will be coming to the UK to the MAG UK event!
He is looking forward to meeting up with as many UK Amiga people as possible. So, If you'd like to meet up with the OS4.1 guys and then perhaps buy a SAM board and OS4.1 come along to the event on Sat 1st November

@all

The Midland Amiga Group (MAG) are pleased to announce that the MAG Bash has been kindly sponsored by Amigakit.

This is good news as no doubt they will be bringing along loads of hardware for sale including SAM 440ep and OS4.1.

Classic user wil not be forgotten either so this will be an opportunity to see Deneb, Indivision and Mediator TX plus Minimig and not forgetting OS4.1 for Amiga One.

Systems with these recent add ons will be up and running at the event as well as Amiga Forever 2008 and and Efika running MOS2.1.

As things progress annoucements wil be made on the MAG web site

http://www.midlandamigagroup.info

What is important is that those hoping to attend pledge their attendance as we hope that will attract more exhibitors. We are actively contacting as many of the main players and hope they will come and visit us in the UK.

Re: Which is the best VGA card for OS4.1?

@2crazy
I've installed a Sapphire 9250 256MB AGP card in my Amiga One and no issues so far with OS 4.1

Sapphire cards, AGP and PCI, seem readily available - ebuyer.com have them in stock now and the prices seem reasonable.

I'm sure an Amiga One running OS 4.1 with the aforementioned card will be up and running at The MAG bash in November.

@orgin

Thnaks for the link and a very informative review.

I will have an Amiga 1200 with an Indivision on show at the MAG Bash on 1st November 2008 if anyone wants to see this amazing piece of hardware.

@OldAmigan

OS4.1 is a certainty.

We should also be able to cater for the classic side as well so you can try out some of the following:

OS4.0 on classic
A1200 with Mediator TX and Radeon graphics card
A4000 with Deneb
Amiga Forever 2008

Hopefully someone can bring along a working MiniMig and there will be an opportunity to try out MOS2 on an Efika.
If we are really lucky, and this does depend on people pledging their attendance, we may also be able to get hold of a SAM motherboard.

So as the amigans .net slogan says "next generation . emulation . classic" and that will be the case !!
