Open sourced NVIDIA GPU driver
Just popping in
Just popping in

The news is that Haiku has got an initial port of NVIDIA's GPU driver: https://discuss.haiku-os.org/t/haiku-n ... g-nvidia-gpu-driver/16520

The driver supports wide range of Nvidia's graphics cards: https://github.com/NVIDIA/open-gpu-kernel-modules. Looks like the very latest Nvidia graphics cards are supported.

Can we expect AmigaOS 4 port of the driver soon?

Old news indeed, but the Internet Archive submission was fresh. There is a pirate copy of AmigaOS 4.1 FE, too

I wonder why the Mac Mini adaptation (Moana Loader) wasn't released separately as an AOS 4.x extension (without the OS itself) by the person who made it. Or is it that it's just not about the loader, but Exec needs to be modified too?

There appears to be an AmigaOS 4.0 installation iso image for PPC Mac Mini in Internet Archive: https://archive.org/details/amigaos40installformacmini

Another question is related to already maded Dual PNG files, is there a free program that can be used to change png file image size 256x256 to 96x96 inside the folder without going through each image seperately?

I use Affinity Photo and you can easily batch process image files with it. It's a commercial program but you should be able to resize the icons with the trial version that can be downloaded from here: https://affinity.serif.com/en-us/photo/

In my opinion AshGrey looks better than the others.

OK, maybe I used a wrong word. I ment the shaded areas of the icons. The Raven Black and Frost White icons look right to me. The others look odd.

On the Sea Green and Ash Grey icons the right side of the icons, that reflects the light, look correct to me, but on the Ancient Copper, Classic Blue, and Chili Red they are grey scaled. And that makes them look odd to me.

Looks like the shadows are black in all color versions and not dark blue/red/green/grey. Is that going to be fixed in the future?

@DigitalDesigns

Very nice icons! Can you make a lighter version of the icon set, too?

It would still be nice to write my own video editor. But, it's getting harder to find a gap in the market. There are already some very good editors available, both paid and free...

How about animation software? I'm not an animator, but an easy to use typography, rotoscope, or stop motion animation software would interest me.

OK, nothing to worry about then It's amazing how low geennaam's X5000 CPU temperature is.

I have two fans blowing hot air out of the case but none to blow cool air into the case.

Got the screws from IamSONIC and installed the fan. Thanks again IamSONIC!

I'm a little concerned about my X5000's CPU temperature. It's 64 degrees Celsius on idle. PCIe temperature is also as high.

@elfpipe

There is an HDAudio.audio driver in the A-EON's Enhancer Software package: https://wiki.amiga.org/index.php?title=Enhancer_Software

I think that'll work with SoundBlaster Audigy FX, but I'm not 100% sure.

Reviving the old thread.

I recently bought a Noctua NF-A6x25 FLX 60x25mm fan to replace X5000's original CPU fan. Any tips where I could find suitable screws to install the Noctua fan?

@Hans

I'd be interested in the commercial Envoy replacement, especially if it can share and connect to any USB device on another computer (USB over IP). A screen sharing feature would be handy, too :)

The reason for catweasel.device crashing may be that I have no disk drive connected to the Catweasel.

Re: Catweasel SID player

I installed Ian's Catweasel drivers (catweasel.device and catweaselsid.device) from the AmigaOS 4.1 FE installation CD. Once installed Catweasel Disk Preferences program does play a SID test sound but catweasel.device crashes right after that.

AmigaOS 4.1 SDK has Catweasel include files but there is no documentation or example programs. Are they for using the devices or for accessing the card directly?

Hello,

Are there any music players for AmigaOS 4 that can play SID tunes using the Catweasel MK3 PCI card?
