What is the 'official' way of powering up a 5040 after shutting down or a hard reset? First, I reach around behind the tower to switch off the power supply. Next hit the power button about 10 times to discharge the motherboard, switch the power supply back on, then power up normally. If this ritual isn't followed, the machine crashes with some sort of motherboard error when restarting. This is indicated by the flashing LEDs on the motherboard.

Apparently, this is normal behavior. Is everyone okay with this, or is there a better way?

From what I have read AmigaKit is the dealer that used the hot glue. While I can understand the reasoning behind it, I would opt out of having it done to my systems.

I want to order a 6 pin ftdi usb-ttl cable to log the MCU data on startup. Apparently the ftdi usb cable is offered in 3.3 volt and 5 volt versions. Which one is correct for attaching to the MCU debug header on the X5000 motherboard?

I have just done the same thing with my A4000 using the same 3660 from Amigastore.eu. I opted for the full 68060 instead. I copied the 68060 libs over and it works. I think that I renamed the 68040 libs as '.old'.
I have heard that is better to install a package of libraries instead but I have miss placed the details.
