Amiga40 Community Award

Once again this year we would like to present some trophies at the Amiga40 in Mönchengladbach and thus continue the tradition introduced at Amiga34 - the presentation of the Community Award.

What is the Community Award?
A small award and a thank you to the developer(s), programmer(s), musician(s), dealer(s) or other person(s) / group(s) from the Amiga scene whose developments / merits between about mid-2023 and mid-2025 have particularly impressed and pleased you.

This year we have divided the whole thing into four categories:

1. hardware developments
2. software
3. games
4. other

If there are fewer than 5 nominations in one or more categories by the end of July, we reserve the right to merge categories.

How does the voting work?

Firstly, we will be collecting suggestions from now until the end of July - on a1k, Facebook and various other platforms! The suggestions can be written directly here in the comments or sent to us by e-mail to info@amigaevent.de.

We ask for the following information for suggestions:

- Name + nickname if applicable
- Category
- Reason for nomination / corresponding product

From the beginning of August, the voting will start among all the candidates who have been nominated by then. Everyone can vote for each category. We will then communicate the link to the voting here and allow voting until mid-September. The evaluation will then be completed from 16 September - the current interim results will not be visible, but we will provide minor information and updates from time to time as usual.

When will the award be presented?

The winner of each category will be announced at Amiga40 and will of course be publicised on all the usual Amiga sites afterwards. The award ceremony is planned for Saturday afternoon (18 October 25).

What will the top four winners receive?

On the one hand a trophy, on the other hand a small amount of money (depending on the donations received) for a nice evening with the team or friends or family.

Sponsored by a1k.org - what does that mean?

The a1k forum is the most important and most active forum in the Amiga area. The a1k forum has always intensively supported the previous Amiga events and is always represented on site with numerous members and is once again a great motivator, also for the realisation of the Amiga40. The Community Award is also supported by the forum in the form of monetary donations.

I look forward to many suggestions, active participation and your support!

Thank you very much!

Hey guys,

we are currently working hard to celebrate a fantastic Amiga40 Germany show on 18th and 19th October.

More information can be found on our website, social media and other Amiga websites.

We are close to a fantastic goal: We are less than 50 tickets away from 1000 visitors on Saturday - for an Amiga-only show in 2025 this sound like an unbelieveable size!

If you didn´t get your ticket yet - there are still a few available at amigaevent.de/ticket and we would be very happy if you join us!

Right now we are collecting nominations for the Amiga40 Community award until 31st July - have a look at the next post.

*Amiga38 Community Award*

We would like to continue our small tradition: As already at Amiga34 in Neuss and also at Amiga37 in Mönchengladbach, a Community Award is to be presented again this year at Amiga38 on October 6 and 7.

- What is the Community Award?

A small award and a thank you to the developer(s), programmer(s), musician(s), dealer(s) or other person(s)/group(s) from the Amiga scene whose developments / achievements between about mid-2022 and mid-2023 have particularly impressed and pleased you.

In the past we have noticed that it was quite difficult to compare the achievements with each other - therefore we would like to introduce three categories this year:

1. hardware developments
2. software/games
3. other

- How does the voting work?

First of all, we are collecting suggestions from now on - on a1k, Facebook and various other platforms! Suggestions can be posted directly here in the forum or sent to us by email to info@amigaevent.de.

For suggestions, we ask for the following information:

- Name + nickname if applicable
- category
- Reason for nomination

From the beginning of August, the voting part will start among all the candidates proposed
until then. Here, everyone can vote per category. We will then announce the link to the voting here and allow voting until mid-September. From 16 September, the evaluation will be finished - current interim results will not be visible, but we will give small hints and updates from time to time.

- When will the awards be presented?

The first place winner of each category will be announced at the Amiga38 and of course afterwards also published on all common Amiga sites.

- What do the three first place winners receive?

On the one hand a trophy, on the other hand a small amount of money for a nice evening with the team or friends or family.

- Sponsored by a1k.org - what does that mean?

The a1k forum is one of the most important and most active forum in the Amiga area. The a1k forum has always supported the previous Amiga events intensively and is represented on site with numerous members every time and is once again a great motivator, also for the realisation of the Amiga38. The Community Award will also be supported by the forum in the form of financial donations, which will be collected there.

I am looking forward to many suggestions, a lively participation and your support! Thank you very much!

Amiga38 Germany - 6th and 7th October 2023
Just popping in
Just popping in

Hey guys,

just wanted to share that the Amiga38 Germany takes place on the 6th and 7th October 2023.

Ticket sales have started on Sunday, 14th May at www.amigaevent.de/ticket

Here the news about the show:

On Sunday, May 14, 2023 the ticket sale for Amiga38 has started with a few minutes delay shortly after 8pm!
Amiga38 is expected to be the biggest Amiga show worldwide again this year - despite several old and new Amiga events - and welcome guests and visitors from all over the world.

The visitors can look forward to three main topics, which will be in the foreground during the one and a half days - on the one hand we want to pay tribute to the legendary and insanely active demo scene and have some more musical and informal contributions to this besides the Demo Contest brought to life by the Apollo Team.
Our second main topic will be the AmigaOS and its current development team - who is actually behind the development of AmigaOS3.2? Part of the team will be present with their own booth at Amiga38 and will be available for questions and answers. Camilla Boemann will travel from Denmark and hold a stage presentation on behalf of the team.
Furthermore we want to give Commodore's console, the Amiga CD32, more attention, especially since it celebrates its 30th birthday this year. Beacon of hope or stillborn? What was the plan behind the console? What would have happened if Commodore had been more liquid at the time of release? These and other questions will also be addressed in October - as a special guest we could win Beth Richard from the USA. Beth Richard worked as an engineer at Commodore from 1991 until her retirement in April 1994.
She was designer of the Grace chip and the CDTV-CR that used it; of the MPEG-4000 that was the prototype for the CD32 FMV cartridge, one of the three designers of the Akiko chip in the CD32 and the main designer of the CD1200 prototype.

Other well-known names who have already confirmed their participation include Petro Tyschtschenko, who already celebrated his 80th birthday in April, David Pleasance and Dave Haynie.

For Amiga38, besides the day tickets at 27,50 Euro, appropriately named "Passierschein A38", there are of course again day tickets including table (for 40,- Euro), as well as tickets for the Pre-Opening and Get Together on Friday evening (after the exhibitors have been set up, a first tour is possible, in addition there will be snacks and drinks from 8 pm, as well as a stage program including a Reshoot Proxima release party) at 59,- Euro.
Additionally, there are some ticket combos with discounts, as well as free tickets for children and teenagers up to and including 16 years. As experience shows that some categories will be sold out quickly, it makes sense to secure your ticket in time.

Questions about the tickets or other topics concerning the Amiga38 can be sent to info@amigaevent.de.
