@jaokim

I think it's awesome somebody is working on Java for Amiga.. I know it's a long road, and maybe it won't work out in the end, but anyway, any progress is good here...

Hope you keep on a little bit... :)

I Like these Amiga specific Apps. Give me something like Cinnamon Writer over some lame Linux-program-port anyday...

@thread:
Also new here, but been hanging around on Amiga-related boards since 2006 again, after having a long absence from Amigadom, since around 1992.
Got my Amiga 500 back in late 1987, and it was kind of my first "computer love" back then, although I had a C64 and various other obscure 8Bitters (the "Laser VZ 200" and the Sanyo MSX Computer).

Amiga though, was something special.

I left the Amiga back then, because I had lost interest in computers generally. Some years later, around 1995 I got my first Windows machine. I had heard that Commodore was not around anymore, so I thought Amiga was completely history as well.

In 2006, I had some Internet searches about some of my old "electronic love affairs" from my childhood days, and so I checked out, what had happened to the Amiga (and also the Vectrex gaming console ;) )in my absence. Most things were really sad to hear about (all those weird companies doing nothing for the brand, the split up of userbase, etc). I think everything is getting much much better for the last two years though.

At the moment I am just dabbling in UAE and "some other Amigalike but X86 based" OS ;), coding something, which I want to port to Amiga OS 4.1, as soon as I get my OS4.1 machine (not sure yet if it will be a X1000 or Sam, have to see the price first).

So, it's kind of fair to say, the X1000s news brought me to this side. :)
