3D doesn't work, period (or use the search fonction).

I won't answer on both sides every time for each question, make your choice

A 9000 Pro or 9200 Pro should be the best available (theorically).

@AmiKit

Hyperion doesn't recommend the best card, they recommend what they seem to bo the minimum graphic card to enjoy the new graphic system of OS 4.1.

As usual, the more the better.

Regarding Gfx memory, take a 128 MB one, it will be ok (anyway a 256MB one will only show 128 MB under OS 4.1).

Even 64Mb would be enough to enjoy OS 4.1.

Graphic memory will be used for transparency, compositing, etc..

As usual, the more the better

@Alpyre

No, this won't work if you copy these files the place you mention (that's what I thought first and then, seeing it did not work, I copied thes 2 files id the OpenredAlert drawer and it worked).

@All
Anyway, the game is not so stable and many encounter crashes at different moments in the game.

@ikir

Just copy MAIN.MIX (in the root of the CD) and REDALERT.MIX (in the INSTALL/ directory of the CD) to the OpenRedAlert drawer.

That's all

@sofistisoftware

Which one of theses words from Joerg did you not understand :

Quote:
The AmigaOS 4.x port is very fast already, rendering is probably around 10 times faster on average than on Linux. It's very unlikely that even more noticeable speed-ups are possible.

Re: Games working (or not) on OS4 Final

@Thematic

Ok, so I still have the same trouble with the integrated VIaAC97 on the AmigaOne XE (fixed of course).

Every software I test that is using audio.device cannot allocate any channel (Koules from Alexandre Balaban did not work either, he made a special AHI version for me).

And when I type "version audio.device", I get "audio.device 52.1" so I guess everything is ok and that there must be a problem with either the integrated ViaAC97 sound chip or its driver.

Old topic, I know but I have troubles with Earth 2140 not laoding. I'm using the latest update from RuneSoft's website.

It always complains with this error message: "Sound initialisation error. (Channels in use?) "

Of course, nothing is using any channel (I've even deactivated the SoundPlayer command in the StartupSequence) and I'm trying to load the game just after booting to be sure nothing would use AHI.

It there anything I'm doing wrong?

@RedFox:

Sometimes it works, sometimes no. Sometime, I click twice and the thee times. Then, I can use cursor keys to navigate.

For sure it works, for everyone, keep trying (and don't use any key combination, it's no use for that).

Indeed, Joerg explained somewhere why OWB doesn't use the video memory.

I could not explain it myself but there was a good reason if I remember correctly..

Thanks for the explanation about improvements in CSS rendering but for those not used to use (try to say this ten times :) ) OWB, they won't see many differences.
