@cybo

Some really nice backdrops there, A big "Well Done" from me for smartening up my Workbench :)

Re: Amiga hires Jamie

There have been many stories throughout the years of coders being hired, their projects raped and pillaged, and the coders end up with nothing. Paul Nolan was a typical example of good coders that ended up being owed a load of money through direct dealings with Amiga and it's associates. Lets hope Jamie doesn't end up in the Amiga history books for the wrong reason....

Looks like I have left some debug in it, I'll check that...

@Swoop

Right, not sure why, but the URL for the ogg update was wrong, hence the problem you were experiencing. Everything should work as expected now.

That was the easy fix :)

@AmigaBlitter

On the classic you will always have 100% compatibility, regardless of what OS4 leaves behind. Simply boot back into Workbench 1.2 and play all the games you want...

Whether your hardware allows you to play 20 year old games is another matter though...

@acefnq

Once an updated SDK hits the streets, one can only hope some of those coders start producing native OS4 apps...

@slcroucher

It depends what filesystem you are using. FFS is prone to disk errors. SFS does also suffer from this, but much less often.

Yes, you should be able to backup / format/ restore without problems

Re: Assign command

@Swoop

Provided TurboCalc actually uses the systems def_tcd.info default icon, try putting TurboCalc:TurboCalc in the default tool.

Could it be possible you have entered the full path wrongly?

In any case, it's pointless to have the assign if you're not going to use it :)

I would suggest using Snoopy when you save a TurboCalc file to see if the def_tcd.info is actually being used...

@samo79

Well, that is something that has yet to be determined, but as for putting it on the CD, no, I'm afraid not.

@samo79

You've already got it, why does it need to be on the OS4 CD?

Re: AmiUpdate not updating

@samo79

The updates are not available to download directly from the website anymore. Just run AmiUpdate and it should find the latest version of itself.

You will be notified either in the startup check, or in the main list after scanning the system.

All this, and more, is mentioned in the documentation available.

No, it should appear in the main list of applications too

@Niolator

Just FYI, if you check the log that AmiUpdate creates, you will see that each entry is listed, and the check for the script is shown, along with the result.

The log can be found in "RAM Disk:AU_Log" unless the location has been changed in the tooltypes

@MamePPCA1

As Colin (the Snoopy author) is also an OS4 developer, I would say that this dependancy is an oversight on his behalf.

Perhaps contacting him directly may be a better option...

Re: AmigaONE XE-G4 boot
Supreme Council
Supreme Council

@benny

When you remove the battery, have you tried putting the old one back in?

You shouldn't have to replace the CR3032 so often.

Your booting problem is a known issue with Micro A1's, but this is the first time I have heard of it on the XE hardware.

The Micros need the battery shorting before reapplying the power after "moving" the machine, and they then boot fine. This doesn't seem to affect all micros either, but I know of at least 3 that suffer this malady.

So I'm wondering if the pure fact that you are removing and replacing the battery is what makes it boot (same as the micro) rather than the fact you are putting in a fresh CR3032...
