I'm going to be looking into webcam streams. If it's sent as a stream mplayer can handle, without the data being in some random order, I should be able to just stream it straight to mplayer.

Though I think audio and video streams are sent as 2 separate streams simulataneously.

@TiredOfLife

There is an older SLB that will boot both, but I don't have it.

@jahc

OK, what happened with MSNP11 was, one day something changed, and after you issue an SBP command, the timestamp on the MSN's own database of your contacts is not updated.

So, now you're meant to update your own database file yourself, internally when you do an SBP.

It wasn't always that way though.. but it's standard behaviour now and not a bug in SabreMSN or AmiMSN. Just something missing we have to add.

Edit: On a further note, anyone to test "something" with me in about 6 hours?

@samo79

I'm hijacking the Sabre thread! with boring AmiMSN stuff :)... jahc was soo busy and tired tonight, but I was all hyped up and ready to code. So I know nothing has happened with Sabre yet but the leg work is happening behind the scenes, as you can see.

@samo79

I remember years ago when I looked at it, it appeared you needed to have knowledge of C to make sense of it, so I never found out if it was asynchronous or not.

On a further note, I believe I can now generate a valid file transfer request that the switchboard will accept..... but as jahc appears to be busy very tonight, I have not tested it at all yet.

Edit: It has been tested and is successful. Wooo.

Edit2: http://members.ii.net/~trebs/AmiMSN/MSNP2P/ (don't expect anything, it's just progress.. not gonna tell you how to use it either )

@samo79

I would if there was some asynchronous GUI solution for AREXX. I don't know of any.

Remember, AmiMSN has a near fully functional IRC daemon built-in to overcome its lack of a GUI.

@samo79

Had a breakthrough last night. Looks like file transfers are going to happen... I can't give any solid ETA. I don't know when jahc wants to implement it but perhaps AmiMSN will get it late next month or early Oct.

Display pictures are sent in much the same way. I wonder what size the rexx script will be. I think its about 73k at the moment. I'm not at home. Using my N97 to post!

@redfox

Regarding AWNPipe, have a look at the RXDraughts code if you want examples on how to use it. Even though I have the window size fixed, I did weight everything properly if you remove the resizing restriction.

@Kicko

Working on the file transfer stuff now. It's very very hard and "IF" I can figure it out i'll be very happy... but i'm only focusing on the switchboard method of sending files for now, not direct connections. It's better that the first file transfer implementation will work through firewalls.

An MSNFTP implementation is still in AmiMSN and still works (although for some reason doesn't work between jahc and me, though everyone else it's OK.. but ports must be forwarded and firewalls turned off). Keep in mind MSNFTP has been removed from Live Messenger, but can still be found in Windows Messenger and older "MSN Messenger" versions, (try oldversion.com)

@samo79

Due to hardcoded bug, AmiMSN and SabreMSN will be fixed up.... pretty much probably by the time you read this message.

Edit: If not by the time you read this, then you can be assured we know what the issue is and how to fix it.

@joerg

You said OWB doesn't have a GUI... What are these back/forward buttons that I see? If you can add a bookmarks feature, then you can add a download manager, or at least a progress bar.

You're right about memory being used up just by moving the mouse. I can see it go down in Dopus4's memory monitor as I move the mouse.

Not very good is it!
