take a look please on this video, speed of moving/redriwing of windowses must be looks like this ? I.e. a bit 'slow' ? Or somethink wrong with my setup ?

Yep, thank, but i tried already all the panales/manager, but moving of windowses are slow anyway. I.e. i want to say, that is much slower that for example aos4 original app's windowses. It's must be like this, or windowses of AmiCygnix apps must be moves with the same speed as the aos ones ?

Right now i writing from NetSurf which i found into base AmiCygnix distrib,so ..

Booting time of AmiCygnix with all the stuff got 2-3 second on my peg2. Really fast. Running programms inside of Cygnix, fast, but cant said that its very fast.

The only one problem which i have - its very slow redrawing of windowses and moving of windowses. For example if i resize netsurf to almost full screen (not matter that netsurf i mean, any programm, like abiworld, etc), redrawing are madness slow. Like VGA mode when you setup Win95 or kind of :)

Any trick to speedup it ? Thanks.

did OWB 3.9 support character conversion ? I mean i have setuped russian keymap, set all system fonts to the russian fonts (courier cyrilic ones), and all system stuff works ok with russian (i.e. cli window, editpad, dopus, all work ok). But for owb, i can only type in russian in url string, but when i tryed write in some forum, i see only bad characters, like owb not handle corrected font. And i just cant found in OWB options for setting font for it. Any help ?:) Maybe i can do somethink like : owb font=fonts:courier new.font ?

becouse for some very strange reassons, these intros from uprought on os4 can't be closed by mouse click, or by 'esc'. It's can be closed only by pressing by mouse on closed gadged of window. Then wait few second and programm are started (for me avoid 'mouse click' and/or 'escape' are suck, but it is:) ).

After 2 days want to say that yes, 3.8 are buggy. Many reapers randomly, and text typing are slowdown.

OpenGL works over MiniGL on os4 i believe? If so, MiniGL must have options for 'window' setup (which are pretty easy was on 68k version of MiniGL). Or problem somehow deeper ?

ps. i open for tests and help and so on, feel free to contact with me if you need some help with it

In this point i agree. For sure in near future we will see some more magazines after many apps growing app, and hardware more or less easy to get.

For sure i agree. I just see that at this moment aos4 start to have some pretty modern and good application, and need to help to authors made it good. (i.e. some bug reports from me :) )

Becouse i found many good sdl based games, which are funny. My sister with shes girlfriends plays in 'x-moto' and 'ltris' all the time, and i need scream out ot they to got peg2 for me :)

Of course all of this possible do on windows, and found all these games, but on aos4 it's "fun" ?

I mean in last time too many news from AmigaFuture which are.. if said easy not so important. I.e. "new somethink online", "somethink packed", "somethink changes on url". Like everyone everyday think about AmigaFuture and so on. Looks like newes about nothink. I mean better post news like "owb is out", "some software out", "some hardware out". Not just somethink like "we change i name", "we put somethink on page" and so on. If someone want to post somethink everyday about some changes - better make a topic, or special area for all who in interest.

But it's imho of course.

No crashes for me, but want to say some words:

Loading of OWB are the same as 3.7 (i.e 5-7 seconds for sure, not like 'very fast').

Downloading are works, but download manager are must. I.e. for check how many % are downloaded and how many are still in a way. Also resume/pause options for download manager are need it. Somethink like Ibrowse one. Of course need to allow to download many files in one time. Not only one ;)

And about OWB itself, it's possible to do somethink "open link in new tab" ?

ps. Also 'history' of links works a bit strange. I.e. for example run browser, then press twice on 'about', and type "a". It must show all the links which begining on 'a', but it's not. And press 'backspace' on kind of on keyabord, to make it works.


@Slayer, i think they visit heavy and modern sites (like facebook and so on), and not only amiga related ones which are easy to parse :)

ok! Looks like i found where is a bug!

If i use any screen mode with 32 bit - i will have always in SDL apps these 'noise beeps'. If i use 16bit screen modes (does not matter which one by size, 640x480 or 800x600 or 1024x768) - all is ok!

The problem exactly when i have 32bit modes in workbench. Any idea what i need to check/set/add for make it works with 32bit screens ? Some 'refresh' problem thinks ? Like need right values into p96 setup ?

Also problem with Milky are gone too, if i have 16bit screen mode for wb. All of this looks like like somethink must be setuped for screens for p96 i think ..

Peg2 for you ? It's not only "Milky" related. The same for example with "Protrekkr". Same for you ?

Looks like these thinks (ahi behaviors when move window) and 'noise beeps' in SDL apps are different ..

One more question: if you run MilkiTracker, then choice a module, press "play it", and when try to moview window of Milky fast - will you hear some 'ahi' surrenders ? A little noise sounds ? (not these 'beeps' about i talk, but just some 'slowdowns') ?

Also, can you please put the full list of your SOBJS: directory with size of files, etc. Maybe some bad lbrary for me ..

Hm, SDK related or SDL related updates ? It is possible that SDK update have inside some new libs/files for system intself which can solve this problem ?

ps. which gfx card for you btw ?

ps2. i made a 20minute video (50mb) which show how os4 on peg2 works (some progs,etc), and you can for sure check it and detect these strange 'beeps' for example on 09:32 of time (some shooter game), or for example on 13:37 (on 'giddie' game). Pretty noise sound :)

So, no sound problems with you ? Your are use default Via or some other sound card ?
Also, you use just default install of os4.1 for peg2, without new updates ? (like maybe new minigl, or new sdl ?)
