Re: AmigaOS 4.1 - software problems.

@xenic

The first question has to be: Did you do a clean install or an upgrade?

I've made some research but I'm not sure, could You give some details about DVD/CD and PSU?

Is it Panasonic UJ-845 with SATA adapter?

It was supposed to be a Panasonic, yes, but UBoot identifies it as an OptiArc AD-7630.

Is it PicoPSU & external PSU, what voltage/power?

It's a 120-WI PicoPSU. That is 120 watts and "wide interface" (meaning the icoming supply voltage can be from 6-24V DC. Powering it is a laptop style brick putting out 19V

The small green arrow next to "Reply" will take you back to the first message. From there it's a simple scroll to the top at the flick of a wheel :)

@Mrodfr

Welcome to Amigans.net.

It's good to see new faces here, and great news that you've decided to jump on the OS4 boat, welcome aboard.

As you are in France, will you be attending the Colmar Multimedia Expo at the end of the month? There should be a visible OS4 presence there attracting some attention.

Re: OS4.1 SWAP partition question

@RacerX

If you resize a partition, all data on it would be effectively lost.

It is possible to perform an "Undelete" on the partition after resizing, but there are no guarantees you'll recover everything, and it should really be a last resort.

As with all changes to hard disks, the best advice is to back it up first.

I would like to extend a heart-felt thanks to everyone that turned up today, it was a huge success, and it just goes to show that there really is interest in the Amiga again.

There was lots of camera clicking, and video too, so I'm sure they will arrive when they are ready.

@all

I appreciate the nomination, but I do not have a PayPal donate button.

What I would like, is for all those that would donate money to me, to donate to a Cancer charity of your choice instead.

@tlm

They are currently very busy with the Sam440 and the imminent release of OS4.1 for it.

Leave it for a few more days, you may get an answer in the meantime.

@niceguy1979

I'm sure we can sort something out.

What sort of facilities do you have? Projector? Whatever display mechanism you have, it'll need DVI inputs for the SAM (although I do have an adapter kicking around somewhere)

Myself and Evert will be there, so no doubt they'll be an OS4.1 demo going on :)

Re: [help!]Failed to update u-boot from 0.1.1 to 1.1.1 on A1

@clint

Well, as you didn't supply a link to the thread over at AW, I am replying here.

The image you are trying to boot is the updater image, which is crashing. What happens if you cold reset and try to boot normally? Does it boot OK?

I'm thinking it could be the updater image that is corrupted, not UBoot itself.

If you really need a new ROM, I have some here, which I can flash for you.

@LiveForIt

OK, found the libs, but there are too many linking errors for me to be bothered to try and fix it. Spotup says he has an exe now, so I'll let him take the credit :)

Well, It compiled here, but I'm getting linker errors. Looks like I need to update the SDL and SDL_Mixer libs, any idea where they are?

Re: Sam 440 Flex board?
Supreme Council
Supreme Council

The SAM boards have been primarily developed for the embedded market, hence the choice of chip. This is not, AFAIK, likely to change in the near future.

The hardware that is advertised for sale, is available, and as the Amiga tradition has always been, the choice is yours. Buy it, or don't buy it.

The future success relies on good sales of current products, like in most commercial entities. If you wish to wait for future products, your wait might be longer than expected.

@Swoop

The database of mode IDs is not guaranteed to be the same.

It is best if you use settings created directly from within OS4.1

Maybe now you can understand why I said that the intended timing of this event should be good. For the first time in a long time you can hold an event where REAL hardware can be sold, and users can purchase hardware and software bundles.

Start waving those flags...

No, it shouldn't matter which USB slot it's in. Obviously if it's a PS2 mouse, then yes, it does :)
