We have again the same problem:

For now, Cyborg uploaded new version of EUAE with his inbuild GUI for it. That caused many problems:

1. That EUAE binary, lockup system for second time (previous are not)
2. That EUAE are different, binary are changed, and that is _NOT_ original EUAE binary from Richard.
3. That EUAE binary have inbuild GUI, some ppls not want it.

So, the problem is, that os4depot erase old archive (by Richard), by new one, by Gyborg. That suck , and that is must be _not_. I can understand when replaces done from the same author, but when one author, overwrite work of other , by DIFFERENT stuff, just with the same name - that is 100% crap and unlogical.

Orgin, plz, fix it somehow. As i see you do everything in manual mode , so plz, why not add archives with the names of authors or anything else, but not like its now - anyone can owerwrite work of anyone.

Sometime when we have crashes, etc and can press 3 magic buttons for soft reset, we can just do @dumpdebugbuffer@ in shell, and have GR output which we can analize. But how survave after hard-reset ? Because sometime, programms just fully lockup the system, and these 3magic buttons just does not works, and you need to do hard-reset.

For example on moprhos on my peg2, i do:

The same for me. When i try to back from Docky , Tunenet lockup the system sometime. I write to bean in mail about it, but for now can't provide normal debug log with deep description of problem. I just wait for new released, and then i will test that problem deeply.

But for now it's something Docky related i think.

For everyone who in interest about solution, for making double-click by mouse on .ISO mount that ISO and opens in that new device, here is solution:

Create script like c:mount_iso.bat with that content:

Then just setup .iso format for FileTypes in Filer/DefIcons andstring for the Launcher filed in Filer#s FileTypes will be:

And when you will do double-click on the .ISO, new Filer window will be spawns with the new device as root dir (thanks to the filer, which can works like "filer ram:" ).

Before i trying to setup it for the same lister (like press on .iso in lister, then it auto-mounts, and auto-cd to new parition), but with that way it even better, its already start for you new lister, from which you can copy all what you need from iso).

Dunno why there ":(". It's pretty slow machine. Imho will be ":(", when machines with 2ghz cpus will out of production, but not these with 600mhz.

Anyway, there Flex, which are better (and still, it's slow too). Even my peg2 with 1ghz cpu a bit slow from time to time, just dunno how you guys live on those 600mhz with and 64mb of video :)

Maybe one more tab in the prefs, called "thumbs config" or kind, and all those options put here just plainly ?

But on which we all agree:

1. there must some kind of button with choice: thumb,real_icons,lister without spawning a prefs
2. almost all of us (except CrhisH) say that T: are good for storage temporaty data (and there does not matter in general how, it will be erased anyway after quit or reboot).
3. Async load ON/OFF (but that is logical, even without our words i think you in any case was in interest to add that (or already) ).

Imho that more that enough for the first test-release.

Have in mind, you do very good job, and your work will bring for os4 new blood for sure, just some more work, we all will help you with ideas and testing :)

I am with you. For me T: looks more that ok, because it's done exactly for that kind of works (store something whyle programm work, and then erase when programm quit or machine reboots).

Related to thumbnails and alt:

Not sure that you will in interest to follow Ambient way (but why not, if its usable), and you can add clicable button(s) on the main filer window, which will mean switching beetwen thumbs, icons and alt. modes. In Ambinet there 2 clickable buttons:

First button: icon or list
Second button: thumbs, icons or show all files.

How it looks like:

screenshot 1 (thumbs + icons)
screenshot 2 (thumbs + list).

Its pretty usable if compare with pressin options, choise something and pression use/save. Of course it can be added not like in ambient, and not exactly like that, but main idea - allow to user switch fast beetwen important and possible modes.

For example for Filer it can be just one clickable gadget somethere, with that context: thumbs, real_icons, list.

I just about the same problem: double-click on ISO, then it will mounts by diskimage + filler will be automatically CD to that new mounted volume. So because of it i ask about these ";" separators and CD implemetation for filetypes. In that case (if it will works for filetypes), users can make huge scripts with actions like: do something + cd somethere + ask somethere + do something + cd somethere. It can help automatic many thinks (that ISO mounting + cd to the new volume just an easy example because of which i ask about it).

Of course will be cool if Filer someday can browse an image-disks as directoryes, but i think xadmaster does not support ISO ? As far as i test on morphos/ambient, ambient can go into the ISO as to directory, but dunno how it implemented in ambient: over xadmaster, or over internal routines.

Anyway, that CD/etc for filetypes can be usable not only in terms of ISO mounting :)

Understand, good. Sorry for annoing, but will it works for FileTypes ? I mean, with the internal commands i can only put that actions on the buttons, but will it possible with Arexx port do double-click by mouse action ? (filetypes).

ps. thumbs mode on latest screenshots looks nice. But i think loading not so fast ?:)

Arexx port will be nice too then if it can can handle arexx scripts. But how it will deal with $CD ? I mean if i do for example execute of arexx script, then arexx script will know nothing about internal $CD , but if use $CD in the launcher/command field, then how to run script + $cd at one push ?:)

Add plz "CD" for filetypes and ";" separator for user-button and tooltypes too :) Or any other symbol which will mean executing of one more command (that will expand a lot usage of that, ppls can make big scripts which can be used with Filer).
