@Capehill
That changelog says "Compositing requires PatchCompositeTags on WinUAE, for example." I don't know what that does or means but if it's patching some kernel routines to work without hardware compositing then maybe that would be a solution here as well? It's still strange why the amigaone kernel works while pegasos2 has problems but despiite the two machines being similar in hardware the pegasos2 kernel also lacks some IRQ init that the amigaone one does so there might be some differences between these kernels.

@kas1e

- People violating my license is bad
- people defending those actions and blame it on me are evil
- People who deliberately trying to damage me by spreading lies, talking about emotional instability, drama etc. Well, there's a special place in hell reserved for that special kind of evil. ( and I am not even religious)

I know that those who are willing should not suffer from those who mean to do harm.

I am not in it for the money. I just want to help the community in a honest way. But unfortunately there is a rot in the community has a certain culture that is far from my own.

I do not want to spend my time on such people anymore knowing that they will directly or indirectly benefit from it.

If those people confuse honesty with drama. So be it. The OS4 community is a cross section if society afteral.

@geennaam
I was about do drop writing in this topic for good, but just want to clarify: i do not understand what you trying to arciieve with this your last post ? Who those amoral and bad guys are ?

Me, walkero and few others are bad guys of the same league, because we say that your drama actions hurt them and its all can handled better if in first place you dont act like you act ?

I mean , we amoral, bad, and that sort of peoples because we find your actions strange ?

And Acube bad too, because they simple not read readme, while you will teach them now how world is working and no one should ever forget to read readmes for your drivers in fear you again will act like that and remove something else ?

Honestly, i were sure today you will remove something else from os4depot for any reassons.

And just a little question: do you think, that with all you super moral you have, and the way how you act with all this drama users should hope and wait your developing when they know now, that in any day when you will dislike anything else (not forgotten readme, but someone call you bad, or doing what you dislike or whatever else), you will again remove something or stop something ? I mean this no worry you when you call some of us as a bad guys ? All ok and fine ?

Look, we need developers, you are good one, that for sure. But emotional stability is must if one work on anything amiga like, or its all false hopes and a carrot for users which we have many before

Amen to this!
Very often people think "the other one" is a bad guy, just because he thinks differently.
Very often lack of communication leads to misundertanding and mistakes.

The more important part from my point of view is that nobody wanted to benefit nastily from geennaam work.

Again you are completely wrong and making false acquisitions. I do not have an NDA with anyone.

You knew that my software was being distributed as contribution to enhancer. If you have an NDA then you should have kept quiet. The fact that you choose to deliberately state exactly the opposite of the truth with no other intention then blame it on me and damage me in the process is showing your true colors. And they aren't pretty.

@K-L

Also completely wrong.
I approached Matthew with the question if my software could be part of Enhancer as contribution . Not the other way around. He asked me if I wanted to have my software beta tested. Therefore my software was distributed to beta tester and I was added to the beta list.
No secrecy, no hidden agreements. No money or transfer of ownership involved.

Why didn't I say so?. Because I have no control over the time line of enhancer. So I just said soon.

@all

I know this is difficult to accept because we have all been told so long by these same people who the bad guys are. But hopefully this opened some eyes here and there that the "Good guys", despite everything they do for the amigaos4 community, are not exactly saints.

The manual has the pins. Let me know if you need those as well.

I borrowed a similar type of adapter cable (ADA954 3.3V TTL serial) which should do the same, but I cannot get any data out with it. I connected it to the MCU debug connector like the one you used (pin1 - black, pin4 - white and pin5 - green).

The connection itself seems to work as there is no error message if I run "sudo screen /dev/ttyUSB0 38400" on terminal . There appears just a white blinking rectangular (prompt?) but trying to input and run commands like 'help' or 'v' does not show anything on the window.

Trying to use 'ttyUSB1' which you had in your example gives just an error: non existent.

I tested also with 'Cutecom' but no output from the MCU, either. Connection itself seems to be ok.

Any idea what is wrong...? Is there some jumper on the motherboard which should be opened/closed so that the debug connector would work?

@Thread

When geenman decided to take off his drivers (NVme and HD Audio) without any reason, i was suspecting Matthew of having secretly contacting him to include his softwares in the Enhancer Software Pack.

Matthew doesn't want people to offer for free their work (moreover if he can make "more" money from them and add more value to his own software pack). I dont know what was promised to geenman.... but all this drama comes from this.

But anyway, if it had not been a secret (I'm pretty sure Matthew asked Geenman not to talk about this publicly since he wanted this to be a "surprise"), if evertything would have been told to anyone that these drivers will be included in the next relase of Ehancer Software, we would not be reading this thread. And noone whould given a f... anyway. We are used to see drivers included in the Enhancer Sofwtare Pack, no need for secrets.

But well, it's usual in the Amiga world, let's say...

I remembered the last one where I also encountered this problem.
An old version of Open Fodder based on SDL2. I don't know how it was compiled and if not somehow with Gles.

Two machines running simultaneously. Qemu Pegasos2 G4 on top and Qemu A1 G4 on the bottom.
The problem here also occurs

Different solution than another huge file - a scriptfile which delets the broken models (I also uploaded this to Aminet). I will also fix the huge file, but you do not need to redownload this, just running the scriptfile once is enough (and the new quake2.so is needed of course which I sent yesterday to Alinea for release).

This is the script:

Now i finally got it working the way i wanted.

.uaerc and .uaerc_RunInUAE files are identical and .uaerc file is write protected.

RunInUEA adds an that additional Workbench line to the RunInUAE configuration file, but the system works fine with that additional line now without problems :)

Thanks for your help so far.

This would have been better left unsaid, though. It reminds me of another person who refused to give any assistance because I'm "working on the wrong OS." I would have helped him out if he asked...

BTW, kas1e offered a small bounty to get this fixed. That's all the "reward" that's available monetarily. If this were on a commercial basis, then I wouldn't be here.

Sorry for that but I believe in free software. I don't mind if others don't but then the rules of commercial software should be applied for those projects which means you get what you pay for.

I appreciate free software, but I certainly don't demand it. I'm also sick and tired of the passive-aggressive bullying & harassment that comes from open-source advocates.

It is entirely reasonable to want to be paid for your work so that you can practise your craft full-time. And yes, that includes the craft of writing software. As a solo developer I don't have big budgets, I don't have a "day job," or a trust fund, or anything else to keep my family fed and sheltered. If I can't earn enough to support my family from writing software, then I simply won't have the time to write any more code.

Sorry for the rant, but I'm sick of this kind of attitude.

Hans

p.s., To be clear, I don't expect any help from you (although what you've given is appreciated). Just lighten up on the attitude, please.

Well, to be honest with you, I do not know what is this exceptional thing you are working on and if it will see the light of the day for the OS4 community to use. I am sure it would be useful.

I am sorry that for one more time you develop so much drama out of nowhere. I do not know why you do it, and this is not my concern, but this is the third or fourth time you do the same thing here in this forum and in the Discord channel.

So instead of attacking people personally, and the community in general, please consider deciding:
- if you want to leave, please do so

- if you would like to develop and release software/hardware for the OS4 community, please do so
- if you want to cease all of your projects and leave, farewell and good luck

@white
I have checked on the Qemu A1 everything works fine.
I don't use WinUAE I am not able to help you.

Just to mention the whole mplayer doesn't use the libraries from os4depot or from @MickJT (only dvd and openssl...).
The rest of the libraries starting with libz were rebuilt from scratch for AOS4 and Mplayer 1.5 (as in Linux Gentoo).
This cost us a lot of effort and time. All of ffmpeg and mplayer has its own libraries that were built specifically for this program.
@MickJT has his version of ffmpeg. Mplayer 1.5 has its own libraries
Even the SLD output has been adapted to work for Pegasos 2 G4 QEMU emulation.
The whole project is GPL and all sources are available.

I wanted to thank you because there was no opportunity to mention all of them - see README.
Thanks guys !!!
I am only a small part of this project but thank you very much for your time and work on previous versions of Mplayer.

I am writing about this because I read the thread today:

I'd like to apologize to Geennaam, I had no idea what you wanted in relation to your creations!

Indeed the USB key supplied with my X5040 comes with HDMixer a 2021 version and I didn't know that HDMixer shouldn't have been supplied with my AmigaOS pre-installation and that they did the opposite of what you wanted.

And I'm only now reading the license.txt, because I didn't have it before.

It's true that the vendors and resellers have done the opposite of what was written in the license.txt.

I have just one more thing to say, Geennaam, please stay with us.

I hope Google translate translated what I wrote well.
