Quote: VPDF lacking - clipboard selection of text - saving as textfile - possibility to jump to a page by number - possibil[ity to jump to first and last page
1. works but is a bit buggy, grab a larger bit of text then use notpad or similar to refine your clip. 2. agreed 3 & 4. use the slider at the bottom, click left or right of the current page to move 1 page in that direction or drag the page number in the same slider or of course you could always use the thumbs to navigate...

Just tried the os4depot release version and have found a serious problem or 2.
The page counter gets lost above 33 pages and drops back to 1, obviously this effect jumping around in documents but also makes thye wrong page be loaded when you use the minimise border button (probably (un)iconify as well
second smaller bug is that in paged mode scrolling of the bottom of one page automatically scrolls 1 place on the next page so you have to scroll up every page to read the start.

Can't you use shownetstatus? it'll tell you what the default gateway address is. If it's 0.0.0.0 then there is probsbly no internet.

@nubechecorre
Heretic II is not OS4.1 compatable, it hasn't worked for many years, iirc since newmem was intoduced. The easiest thing to do is t boot from a 4.0 cd to play it.
Changing the filetype from project to tool is impossible, the icon filetype is only a marker for workbanch, it does not change the file in any way. the quakeII.dll sghould have R & E set.

Don't bother, dll files do not need icons, they're just pointless clutter on your hard disk. If the icon is created with deficons then just turn show all files of in that drawer.

@Raziel A little christmas present:
#!C:Python
X=Y=0
I=open('hosts','r')
O=open('blacklist','wb')
for L in I:
X+=1
if L.startswith('0.0.0.0'):
L=L[9:]
if L.count('.')>1:
L=L[L.find('.')+1:]
O.write(L)
Y+=1
I.close()
O.close()
print "Lines checked:"+str(X)+"\\nIndividual links found:"+str(Y)
edit: changed indenting from tabs to spaces to make it more readable,

@Cass
If PartitionWizard is no longer functional because you have an X-1000 then there is a working version included in A-Eon's Enhancer pack that does work on the X-1000.
Personally I would never use FFS anymore if I wasn't beta testing. If you were using SFS instead you would still have lost the current file as I assume oddity crashed while it was writing it but the older copy would be in .recycled if Oddity does things properly and deletes the old file before writing a new one, if it just opens the file and overwrites the contents you'd be screwed whatever filesystem you used.

I converted your arexx script to python, it 369 bytes:
> blacklist_creator1.py Lines checked: 40520 Individual links found: 38161 > get _runtime 0.868863
I also did a more complicated version that downloads the hosts file itself.
Catch me on IRC if you get stuck.

@Raziel [quote]Just for the sake of completeness, here's what i want to do (and no, i don't want anyone to write it for me) 1) Open a file 2) read the file line by line 3) check if a special condition is met 4) if so, change the line accordingly (AREXX SUBSTR) 5) write it back to another file 6) exit [quote] Here's the same thing in python:
#!C:Python
f1=open('load.txt', 'r')
f2=open('save.txt', 'wb')
for line in f1:
line = line.strip()
line = line.replace('original text', 'amiga text')
f2.write(line + '\\n')
f1.close()
f2.close()
You can add as many replace lines as you need. Edit: Tutorial here: http://www.tutorialspoint.com/python/Edit2: Slightly more complicated version that excepts command line load and save parameters.
#!C:Python
import sys, os.path
numargs = len(sys.argv)
if numargs == 0 : exit()
if numargs > 2 : exit()
loadfile = sys.argv[1]
savefile = sys.argv[2]
print 'Reading: ' + loadfile
print 'Saving as: ' + savefile
if os.path.exists(loadfile):
f1=open('loadfile', 'r')
f2=open('savefile', 'wb')
for line in f1:
line = line.strip()
line = line.replace('original text', 'amiga text')
f2.write(line + '\n')
f1.close()
f2.close()

@shadowsun
Not really, I don't habe it anymore, my mum 'borrowed' for her HD TV.
All the info you need comes in the manual of very tiny print. I had problems that no amiga browser worked and went delving on the net and found out that you need firefox to access it's configuration pages.
Basically iirc... plug the device into a non amiga computer, go to it's url with firefox (10.0.0.1 rings a bell) then choose your wifi, enter the password and save. you then just have to reboot the device (pull power and replace) give it 30 seconds or so to bootup and you should be able to access the net. then just disconnect it and plug into an amiga, swirch on and it should be ready by the time workbench is loading, if not add a wait command to s:network-startup.
If that fails try pentegrams on the wall, chalk circles, black canfles, chanting incantations and sacrificing various family members.

@Mikey_C I've used one of these: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B016A5FIEG ... PLQU?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1You have to plug it into something running firefox to configure it, I used a droidbox. It worked well on my X1000. It takes power from a USB port and plugs into the ethernat port, The amiga doesn't know it's wifi, just thinks it's a standard cable connection.

ok, bad news first, warpup/powerup does not run on OS4.
Many years ago I tested warpup for os4. it worked but the speed difference between the warp version and 68k version was not noticable, some programs like fxPAINT just gave a little eye-candy with little animations in requesters but the actual speed difference when working with it was minimal.
Good news is that the 68k versions will work fine and far faster than on your A4000 as long as they're properly written and don't access the classic hardware directly.
