Re: BUG: MultiEdit Search window lose focus (while typing)

@Lio

the correct entry for the RECENT tools-type is without the "Envarc:" path.
eg.

RECENT=MultiEdit/RecentFiles

will set MultiEdit to look for the file "RecentFiles" in "ENVARC:MultiEdit/"

RECENT=MultiEditRecentFiles

will set MultiEdit to look for the file "ENVARC:MultiEditRecentFiles"

I can confirm it works on AmigaONE-XE and AmigaONE-X1000 using the settings of the first example. The only thing I did, was to create an empty dir in ENVARC: named "MultiEdit"

from the Workbench, press Right-Amiga+E and type
Quote:
makedir ENVARC:MultEdit

hope this helps

working like a charm!!
Actually now I can fine tune where the active point is, which probably was what bothered me.

thank you very much!

@broadblues

Great! :) :)

Can't wait for the update (paid or free) to be available!

Btw, today I finally got around playing a little with SketchBlock, because I got a "new" used Wacom Tablet in the mail!

It's a Graphire 3 A3 size.. and it's so fun to use with SketchBlock!

I have one small and humble request for the next versions of SketchBlock: to optionally have a crosshair pointer instead of the Tools pointer.
Or if you don't want to give up the tools pointer, to have both the crosshair pointer and the tools slightly offset.

Thanks for reading! :)

hi.

one more.
when i select a file and press the "info" button to see the file info i'd expect a popup. instead the detail section is opened.
but it is not closed when clicking on info again.
i presonally find this strange? at least i don't expext it to behave like this.

thanks and regards
michael

I was thinking the same this morning, moreover I expected the RAWBInfo window
to open when I clicked on info and to have the protection bits displayed too. Instead there is a second window for the protection bits, maybe that should all be one and the same window?
It feels strange if it's not since it's always been like that since AmigaOS3.9 and also most other OS have one window for that.

I was about to write a request for that, but then I realised it is possible to implement with an ARexx script which calls RAWBInfo.

@broadblues

Thanks for the explanation.

The "recent" and "recententries" tool types where completely missing but they are present in the debug version..

Maybe I somehow deleted them without noticing some time back.

I noticed MultiEdit does not create the drawer for the envarc: variable automatically if the "RECENT" tool type is activated. I had to manually
create a drawer named "MultiEdit" in envarc: for "MultiEdit/Recent" tool type to work.

@Lio

I can confirm the "Recent Items" always being greyed out, "word wrap" does work here and takes me at a new line after column 77 (can be set in the Tool types).

@nubechecorre

as a workaround I suggest using the context menu.. :P

you might know how to do this, but here is an example anyway:
add this to the ENVARC:contextmenus.cfg

;BEGIN WEx Menus
,Workbench,Open in WEx, CLI,APPDIR:WorkbenchExplorer
,Directory,Open in WEx,CLI,APPDIR:WorkbenchExplorer %d
,Drawer,Open in WEx,CLI,APPDIR:WorkbenchExplorer %f
,Disk,Open in WEx,CLI,APPDIR:WorkbenchExplorer %f
;END WEx Menus

Hi,

my suggestion would be to have Workbench Explorer write the provenience of the file in the files comment. That is when it's downloaded from Aminet or os4depot.

kind of like Odyssey does it. If it is feasible. :)

@tonyw

the pm button you remember might be on AmigaWorld?

here on Amigans you can select the pull-down menu just above one's avatar and if there is no PM entry, go to the profile, there you can find a "send message" button :)

@xenic

can't remember exactly where, but I remember I also had to change yahoo's settings and disable secure password (or enable plain password) and then set up the way TiredOfLife explained.

@mritter0

I second the opinion every one else has.

Copy should mean clone the file and it's DateTime stamp. Thanks for having figured out how to implement it for the drawers too.

@amigakit

My Updater tells me there are MultiEdit 1.4 and MultiViewer 2.8 on the server, and my local files are MultiEdit 1.5 and MultiViewer 2.9.

Must be from my recent trip to the future, but I can send you the updated files if you like. (There should not be no legal infringement, I suppose you made the updates in the future anyway..)

@K-L

Does work here on AmigaOne-XE with EMU10kx and VIA-AC97 in both the "Sound settings" and "Mode settings" Tabs.

Maybe check in "Mode Settings" if the modes are selected.

Edit: the "Sound settings" Tab has a little "Play" Button on the right instead of a "Play Sound" button.

@mritter0

if it's not strictly the date you are after but the overwriting of the previous file from a script, maybe adding the process number to the file name is an option?

@amigakit

I think I found the issue..
As often the user is to blame!

I had not disabled " Amiga 15khz modes" or "Amiga Blatter" in the Graphics Settings.

However, I can not pinpoint which settings it is, because the checkmark is not appearing. In fact none of the checkmarks are appearing regardless of the menu entry or the menu.

Probably I overlooked some setting here too, so maybe a little help to the right direction..
