@orgin
There's a work in that area done by MMUMan, I don't think much progress has been done lately.

Thanks, I didn't get your last sentence though.
I hope that in the future it will support OpenGL ES and/or Nova.

@Capehill
is there any datas of the overhead when using SDL2 vs AmigaOS API? I suppose that using SDL2 is faster than SDL1.

I read in another forum that your SDL2 port use sobjs if true isn't it be better to have it as an Amiga library that way games and apps will be shorter and it's more the Amiga way like on Morphos.

@Daedalus

Are you serious? I didn't knew that you could run it under OCS/ECS/AGA.
If I read here (see link below) I don't see any mention of classic chipset and AmigaOS for classic do not use the 68k processor to run. (Except for bootstrap I guess)
It run on Classic but nobody is going to use the SDK to program AmigaOS 4.x using 68k assembly and Classic chipset banging there Is NDK's for that Already and I don't even speak about the migration guide recommendations.
So my point is still valid.

Why AmigaOS 4.x autodocs are still containing classics info?

Hi
I've done a quick grep on the latest SDK and I got :

8520 (CIA) :
cia.doc 4 match
disc.doc 2 match
timer.doc 1 match

Blitter :
disk.font 1 match
exec.doc 1 match
graphics.doc 86 match
Picasso96API.doc 1 match
warp3d.doc 1 match

Copper :
exec.doc 1 match
graphics.doc 56 match
intution.doc 3 match

And I don't even look for others things like 68k registers or 68k code etc..

Why are the latest SDK still not up to date after all those years? Why nobody fixes this things?

@LiveForit
Thanks, I was wonderîng about SDL2 speed but it has the advantage of hiding Amiga API and permit multiplaform.

Hi,

I just glanced at AmigaOS 4.x SDK examples vs AmigaOS 3.x NDK and it seems that OS4 is having less examples. I'm interested in everything game oriented. (Graphics, sounds, events handling etc.)
Thanks

Is the SDL2 Amiga port made from scratch or is it a mix of SDL2 and Amiga SDL 1?

isn't Setmap supposed to work?
You get an erro because Setmap is not in the path?
IIRC it is in the system directory? so you add system directory to the path or specify the path in the shell.

The article says "As this evolution happens, it means that Linux will gain access to a full open source, high-performance driver stack, with the only constraint being that developers must use Vulkan instead of the older OpenGL."

@LiveForIt

Probably stupid but isn't it possible to add a test to the code to check the color generated and if it's green then stop and search backward from there? (with a known video file that cause the problem)

Re: Allegro5 for AmigaOS4.1

if you just want the Allero 5 interfaces maybe you could use the SDL implementation as it's already ported to Amiga. The Morphos version is also .library.

Re: Allegro5 for AmigaOS4.1

Since Allegro is multi platform I suppose that you just modify those parts to suit your need and be able to sync the common files if Allegro is updated right ?
Nice initiative Allegro is simpler to work with than SDL IMHO.

Update : Just checked sourceforge this is a lot more work than I thought wouldn't be easier in a first time to just do a straight port and see how to work then so a .library?
The problem with what you do is that you'll not benefit from bugs and new features of the original branch and the not being able to port Allegro games depending on them.
