@trixie No no, that from os4depot are not the latest one. Latest one are come wiht Aquaria game if i remember right (just not released for os4depot for some reassons). @RacerX Quote: I have the SDL library (just one .so file to copy to SYS:SObjs, right?)
Yes, just be sure that its very latest one. There isQuote: but I do NOT have the minigl.library. If you don't mind please upload that and we'll see if it helps.
If lodepaint works for you, then you should have libs:minigl.library. Because LodePaint are OpenGL one, and for now our OpenGL implementation its minigl.library. There is last minig.library and mglut.library, copy boch to LIBS: (and just to be sure, you can compare by size old ones, and new ones), just to detect if they are different Also i uploaded here for you binary of lodepaint, where i fix that MemGuart HIT, which happenes on Open/Creating new files (but because of that , MASK does not works at all). But still, after you will try public version with all new libs, and if that will not help, try that binary, just to see, will it help and did that lockup happenes for you because of that HITs, or because of different problems ..

@Tsk Quote: Btw. What do you mean with the word "alt" ? You use it a lot but I don't understand what do you mean usually with it ?
It's like "and so on/and others" (some bad wrong word) :) AJS explain it more deeply in next post Quote: That's debatable. Otherwise I agree. We have to make the platform fun to use instead of prioritize a single thing.
Fun to use - yes. But not fun to develop :) But making that "fun" are real "fun"- OS should be good. Making good think only on "fun" not so right in some cases, sometime need serius work/plan/etc. But that is Hyperion's problems :) @Mrodfr I think we can collect more money for more hardware for new developers, but, firstly, we all in interest for who that 2 new sames already going @Trevor Any news about these 2 sams for new devs ?:)

@Elwood Imho there is nothing wrong. Hyperion works on OS itself (and 2d/3d subsystem its a part of OS, so, its work for Hyperion all in all mostly). But all what you see on os4depot, that is "user-based" releases. Imho it's even better for now that for AROS. Of course, and still, we need improved 2d/3d in aos4, but that is not opensource os, so, just need wait new updates imho.
Release of Gallium3D for aros, not was like "one more release on os4depot". It was very hard and long-way work done by deadwood, which he start from the mesa 3 years ago, and only few days ago, bounty was officially compilted. For all that time, os4depot have many games, tools, apps (as ports as native), and that all in all not bad (about 1500 releases for 3 years).
But i fully agree, priority of aos4 should be after x1000 releases a new video subsytem, mesa/galliaum and alt. Dunno anyway what Hyperion have in mind about :) We can only be in "hope". That is from one side a bad side of close-source OS, but that is also a plus - no code mess which everyone can change.
Good OS without apps - it's nothing, and buggy OS with many apps it's also bad deal. There is 2 ways and boch should be mature, not like one or another.

@joerg Quote: You can't simply commit changes to the OWB SVN. To add changes to the OWB SVN you have to create a patch with the included scripts, add it to the OWB trac and let someone else review your changes, if there is no problem the reviewer commits them to the SVN. Since the scripts don't work on AmigaOS and I have to transfer the sources to a Linux box for running them, and I'm, or at least was until now, the only one working on the AmigaOS 4.x port of OWB I don't update them often. If someone wants the sources of OWB 3.29 (a SVN diff to revision 1466, about 500 KB) send me an E-Mail.
Yep, cool. Thanks, now everything looks clear. @Trixie Did you read that thread ? Maybe you will be in interest in cooperate with me (or anyone else) create a reaction based GUI for simply/primitive download manager ?

@joerg Why you ignore that question all the time: "Is the latest changes in the repository as well ?" ? :) Already 3 or more mans feels yourself brave enough to add download manager to (imho).

@Hans Btw, did joerg commit his latest changes to SVN ? If so, then someone can try to add download manager window with progress bar and 2 buttons - stop/resume. That should be enough. Not sure thorgh, that Joerg will not skip that code at all for the next builds :))

Yeah .. That is really strange to hear, that desktop browser based on OWB make no sense. For what then all that work ? Not for users ? Why then OWB for morphos with all that features implemented by Fab make sense for all morphos users ? I just tring to understand the logic here.

I found that Scons are used in some games, but, it used not so offten as Cmake. Cmake start to be more and more popular.

@RacerX
If you in interest, i can compile a version, where i comment one string, which cause memguard HITs on OPEN/NEW state (but then, no MASK will works). Maybe that will help for you. Btw, are you have latest libSDL-1.2.so and latest minigl.library (which is not in public, but was on some game which afxgroup release some days ago) ? If not, i can also upload it for you (just to be sure).

@alfkil Good progress anyway. Related to ports which i mention: vacuum - good jabber client (heavy by features, and modern, no like that jabberwooky which we have). Trasmission BT - cool bittorren client (with plugins,addons and alt). QCAD - 2D CAD system kvirc - irc client (make no sense imho, because wookiechat good enough). sqliteman - SQLite management tool. Beediff - not so important too imho, just a GUI based programm for comparing and merging files. Fotowall - photo editor. Screenshot. Qgit - tool for developers, with which you will be able to browse revisions history, view patch content and changed files, graphically following different development branches. ScreenshotsImho Vacuum, TransmissionBT and QCAD are good to have. Btw, how hard did you think will be later make that QT native ? Should be re-implemented x-window wrapper for X functions ?

@afxgroup Maybe you will be in interest: i compile bench programm for morphos2.5 (on the same peg2 where i have latest aos4), and with latest powersdl (morphos version of sdl), it give that results for me:
320x240 320x240 640x480 640x480
software hardware software hardware
Slow points (frames/sec): 13.5364 222.222 1.75863 58.3942
Fast points (frames/sec): 705.234 117.539 179.649 29.6125
Rect fill (rects/sec): 20791.9 178087 7249.56 69423.7
32x32 blits (blits/sec): 53194.8 292571 51848.1 273067
MOS_WORK:bench>
So looks like while Slow Points and Fast Points give the same results on HW/SW surfaces, rect fill and 32x32 blits on HW are faster on powersdl/mos. (on SWSURFACE again, the same in general). RectFill faster pretty much, but 32x32 blits faster really well (in twice almost) (for example, in HW/640x480 for morphos we have 273.067, for aos4 146.286). But imho, that it because of our realisation of OpenGL :( Did HWSURFACE use opengl at all ? Also i noticed, that first-coming info from benchmark, are a bit different too: For morphos:
Hardware surfaces avail = 1
Window manager avail = 1
Blitter hardware = 1
Colorkey blit hardware = 1
Alpha blit hardware = 1
Software->Hardware accel = 1
Video memory = 240000
For aos4:
Hardware surfaces avail = 1
Window manager avail = 1
Blitter hardware = 1
Colorkey blit hardware = 0
Alpha blit hardware = 0
Software->Hardware accel = 0
Video memory = 0

@afxgroup That what i have on peg2:
320x240 320x240 640x480 640x480
software hardware software hardware
Slow points (frames/sec): 12.1396 216.216 1.51172 57.971
Fast points (frames/sec): 711.111 118.738 181.303 29.6743
Rect fill (rects/sec): 20898 120471 6450.39 53894.7
32x32 blits (blits/sec): 54613.3 151704 53894.7 146286
Looks like HWSURFACE always faster, except the big differences for 6-7 times in fast_point.

@Hans I tryed with no luck (but i do not remember what was problems, and i also not so good programmer). But yes, i think in last days that will be cool if someone will port at last CMAKE. It used pretty offten in today (in many games, and for example even in new version of PUAE it used, and because of it, it hardly builds on os4 for now).
