Sorry to say this, but I get the impression from Those Who Should Know that the SE's USB circuitry is badly flawed (I don't know in what way) and can not be made to work reliably.

I was making a long post (probably spent some 10-15 minutes writing it) and when I clicked the "preview" button, a message came up "token expired".
I lost the lot.
Couldn't the timeout be a little longer, like 20 mins?

Exactly the same for the NSD commands. Those #defines should be all that is required.

Let's not get too excited about the prospect of the Classic OS4 being released soon. HJF has said on a number of occasions that the Classic version won't be released until after the A1 version, and that they are hoping to get the A1 version out "around the end of this year".
To me that suggests the Classic version won't be seen until next year. As to when, York Air Scissors good as mine.

@Samwel:
"Better still, use the standard that exist for getting info from the monitor about its specs (don't remember what it's called though) and then choose an appropriate resolution."
Unfortunately, that is not yet possible with the limited graphics card support we have.
You probably ran into trouble with two sets of screen modes, the new modes generated by the driver and the old modes generated by Picasso96.
For anyone trying to use the auto screenmodes in future, I repeat the instructions I gave on aw.net several times:
1) ADD your tooltypes to the driver icon. 2) LOOK for the new mode in Prefs/Screenmodes. You will see two modes, the old one and the new one, but you won't know which is which. If there is only one, the new one didn't work, probably because it was outside the limits you set in the tooltypes. 3) TEST the new mode (test both of them). 4) DISABLE the old mode generated by P96 using P96Mode (double-click on the mode in the mode list). It will then disappear from the list in Prefs/Screenmodes.
Now you can use Prefs/Screenmode to choose from your new modes without confusing them with the old modes. There is no need to delete, rename or move anything.

What is this "TD64" system? Presumably it is not, as I assumed, just the 64-bit addressing supported in all OS4 disk drivers?

@Niolator:
I don't know anything about LS-120 drives. If I knew, I could help you with a mountlist for OS4.
What sort of floppies are you putting in the LS-120? PC-formatted (FAT) diskettes or Amiga-formatted? If PC-formatted and the drive can read them, then it should be just a case of editing a mountlist.
If they are Classic Amiga disks (880 or 1760 kB), then they need raw read/write facilities in the drive and software encoding/decoding of the data on the disk. There currently is no OS4 software that supports the old floppy encoding, although there are some unofficial Catweasel drivers.

@pixie: Quote: ...what seems to happen is that they rely on TD64 which is not present on OS4.
All the disk drivers support 64-bit addressing, but I can't speak for CrossDOS.

I think XP uses NTFS by default these days. Certainly when I upgraded my wife's PC from W9 to XP, it expected to reformat the HD with NTFS.

Nah, the buggers lost the plot entirely. The only one really pulling more than his weight (Flintoff) looked as though he wanted to cry when there were 7 sundries from a single delivery without a stroke being offered.

Neon32's version probably appeals to Aussies because with our bright sunlight out here, we are used to seeing sharp edges. With the poor, diffuse light that is typical of Europe, people over there expect less sharply-defined images.

In any case, it depends entirely on the written agreement that was signed back in 2003(?) by Amiga Inc, Eyetech and Hyperion. We do not know what was in it, except that a draft was leaked. We don't know how closely the actual document resembles the draft.

Here's another vote for a printed manual. When I'm travelling on the train I like a little read and a manual is just the thing. Besides, a manual is more comfortable than a laptop in bed.
[edit] I'm prepared to order and pay for it, though! [/edit]

No, the only brands supported are Radeon and Voodoo. The reason is that they are the only two manufacturers who are prepared to release technical information that allows us to write drivers for them.

You can read what you like into "Troika isn't one of them". Some legitimate meanings:
1) Troika is not among them (none of them); 2) Troika is not one of them (but IS the other); 3) Troika is both of them (two models).
In any case, that was said many months ago and may have changed.

Chris, you might add that all of the commands in the SDK come from Linux origins and use "--help" (or some variation of it). On the other hand, all the Amiga commands in C: are written to use ReadArgs and use the "?" option.
Thus we have two "Date" and two "Sort" commands, each with different syntax and options. Many others also.
