MP3 Encoding
Quite a regular
Quite a regular

The one thing that seems to be missing under OS4 is an easy way to rip, encode and have the resulting mp3 file renamed automatically.

Have had a quick look at freedb.rexx and to be honest, it looks a bit of a nightmare.

Is there nothing else around?

@SimplePPC

Have since found the problem seems to be with the second drive.

I can get round it for the moment.

Under both drivers the error says something along the lines off to put back the drives/partitions dh1 dh0 whatever as data has not finished copying across.
The partitions are there though but can't be accessed.

If I reboot and disable the partitions in the early startup on the second drive, they come on ok and can be used.

Alternatively, I can disable the automount option and just mount the partitions after the OS loads.

RiVA and Moovid are top notch for OS3.x.
Frogger plays more formats but is much slower than the other two.

Have registered all three.

Will register DVplayer when I get it working properly.

@SimplePPC

I was under the impression, that was with the A4000 only.
I didn't need to do that to install OS4.

I haven't had much luck with the drivers though so may try it again.

Dissapointing if slower.
Will try contacting the author and see what he has to say.

@samo79

Can't imagine there wouldn't be a market though.
Moovid was always very well optimised and ahead of the competion in terms of speed under 3.9.

Never seen it under 4.0 admittedly.

@LiveForIt

I would have thought DVplayer was a replacement for RIVA also written by Stephen Fellner.

Moovid was written by L?szl? T?r?k .

Or are these two working together?

I'm having a few issues with DV Player.
I'm hoping these will be resolved when the new kernel for classics has been released.

Cheers

That's a shame.
Always liked it under 3.9.
I take it there will be no future development to Moovid?

There is no mention of this on the Moovid site.
1.6 is the last version.
I came across it on Intuition database.

Came as part of Update 2 according to the site.
It is not on OS4 Classic AFAIK.

Can anyone shed any light?

@ktadd

More than happy to do some more testing if you want but let me know exactly what it is you want me to do.
I'm very much a newbie when it comes to ffmpeg.

I have used the older version with the command you stated previously.
I used it when converting wmv files to mpeg
No errors .
I have no idea what the pad function does though, so don't know if that was actually implemented.

Have downloaded the latest version if you need me to test that as well.

Cheers.

@ktadd

I used it when converting FLV and WMV files to mpeg.
What is it supposed to do BTW?

@ktadd

Tried putting in the extra command as above.
Worked fine, no crashes.

@ktadd

Very handy program by the way, very easy to use.
Cheers.

ffmpeg is very good but just too much messing around for casual use.

@OldAmigan

I have heard that before.
Assuming Elbox hasn't already bought a job lot, then we should be able to get higher speed cards.

@Cool_amigaN

From what people are saying on various Amiga sites, there are plenty of people who have got the rest of the kit.
Second hand PPCs have gone recently for 500 euros so faster brand new kit will sell at that price easily.

@Rudei

Well I'm running OS4 on a classic.
Believe me, the extra grunt would be much appreciated.

@ktadd

That wasn't the answer.
I was still getting the same error.
Looks like it wasn't happy with the location of the ffmpeg program. (In a folder called ffmpeg in settings)
Probably threw a wobbler because of the name of the folder.

All ok now.

Cheers.

I have downloaded ffmpeg and the GUI from OS4depot.
Everytime I try to convert something, the full path to where ffmpeg is installed is shown followed by the error
Object is not of required type.

I am using the OS4 generic version of ffmpeg.
Does the GUI by Denil support it?

I hope your right.
I have 160mhz PPC so better of than some but also worse off than others.
Would love to see Elbox produce the Shark.

@MamePPCA1

They are the speeds when the Shark was first announced.
Is it possible whatever is produced now could be faster?
