You need to install MountDiskImage.
MountDiskImage is an extra contribution on AmigaOS 4.1. You need to install it from the OS 4.1 Extras

@noXLar

The last batch of Sam460ex boards and all the new Sam460cr come with the fan . Do you have the freezing if you boot from the OS 4.1FE CD ? As my (from the last batch) Sam460ex is quite stable running OS 4.1 FE (with cpu fan connected) I am more prone to suspect a hardware issue than an OS one especially when using a clean OS version when booting from the OS 4.1 FE CD.

@noXLar

Did you create a thread on the Hyperion Support forum about the freezing ? Sounds like you could need a cpu fan .

@RIBDEVIL

Try your HD7770 with this kernel .

also you need to update your radeon firmware in /libs/firmware/radeon .
will post a link to the updated firmware on http://forum.hyperion-entertainment.biz/
and here

@LiveForIt

Current Sam460ex playback fullscreen under AmigaOS 4.1,RadeonHD 2.4 driver and LiveforitMplayer :
360p mp4 h.24
480p xvid avi
720p mjpeg avi
Can't play back 480p mp4 h.24 in synch even in windowed mode even with frameskip.

Mplayer2 under Debian Jessie can play back a 480p mp4 h.24 in windowed mode in sync with frame skip.No gpu acceleration under linux so it would seem that mplayer2 does the decodeding of h.24 better .

@Severin

Thanks. Will give it a look.
Using a quad core box to do the conversions currently and
I am spoiled by the conversion speed.
Using 2000k with no problems on playback on the Sam460ex.

Still experimenting.

480p Xvid playback ok .
720p Mjpeg playback ok.
so it is possible to play some 720p videos an a Sam460ex.
4x file size of xvid though .

Interestingly 480p mp4 play back in a window in sync (with frame drop) under Linux using mplayer2 .OS4.1 FE on the Sam's has DRI support were as Linux does not so I would have expected better results in OS 4.1FE with Liveforit-Mplayer .

It is possible to create a bootable USB thumbdrive or SD card using a card reader,
which includes the RadeonHD Driver.
It can even be done without having a booting NG Amiga,using an x86 PC,an Arosx86 CD ,a rawimage file of an empty bootable SFS/00 drive of less than 2GB in size and the AmigaOS 4.1 CD.
