@orgin

I'm seriously surprised no one has picked up Gutenprint 5.2.

Standard Amiga printer to post script ->(Already available) PS file to Ghostscript
(simple enough) -> Ghostscript to Gutenprint(The version I released already works with the ijs standard) -> Gutenprint output to the printer(Done).

The only thing missing is an updated ghostscript. :P

On another note I have updated the main gutenprint build to the latest 5.2.10. Cvs Build 8/20/2014 To be Exact.

I wouldn't imagine very fast right now as jit isn't enabled yet.

@MickJT

You are confusing AOS4 for NG platform with Aos4 Classic.

Here are the requirements for classic.
Quote:

The minimum requirements are:
An Amiga 1200 with Blizzard PPC or Amiga 3000(T) with Cyberstorm PPC, or Amiga 4000(T) with Cyberstorm PPC accelerator card
Minimum 96MB memory installed on Blizzard PPC or Cyberstorm PPC
Kickstart 3.0 ROMS
IDE or SCSI CD-ROM drive (on Cyberstorm PPC) for installation
1GB hard disk drive on IDE internal port or Cyberstorm PPC SCSI
Amiga 880K Floppy Disc Drive.

All of which winuae emulates except currently the PPC cpu. Once the CPU code is in place there is nothing stopping you from emulating an A4000 with a CyberstormPPC. That should be plenty to boot AOS4.1 classic.

@LiveForIt

Webkit is BSD licensed not GPL.

As for the parts of Odyssey that belonged to Fab they are released under the APL which merely requires Kas1e return his changes to Fab.

@terminills

oops looked closer does a little more than that. It converts PNM to ZJ stream, even still it could be used as the base for a native driver.

No it's a separate program which merely adds the appropriate header for the 2600n to a postscript file. It could be used as a nasty hack now. Or someone with access to the postscript driver source could make the needed changes.

@ssolie

That's silly there's been plenty of updates to the OpenGL specification over the years. I guess you could call them "Versions".

@328gts

Just so people know I'm still alive lol. No I have not stopped working on gutenprint just merely slowed down a bit for two reasons. 1 I've been busy at work and 2 I got it working with my printers so I need to go buy another one which I don't already have to get me a bit more motivated again. ;D

@TSK

5000 euros is not too much. Fab worked extremely hard to produce a nice product which all three platforms have benefited from for years(when you count the ports). IMHO he deserves every penny.

Great to see you back at it! Any new version to test ?

In the current form there will be no need for testing until the prefs are completed. :)

The new design is

App --> printer.device --> gutenprint --> port

However the new design requires a new prefs system. :)

If you will need someone to rebuild all the stuff for os4 (that gui prefs thingy and all the stuff), i can help

Once the prefs are designed I will more than likely look for someone to maintain the amigaos4 version.

I think it's something to do with getting print job information. PJL is for that, anyway. I'd not heard of EJL - at a guess it's getting a print job ID.

it returns printer id ;)

@EJL ID\r
MFG:EPSON;
CMD:ESCPL2,BDC;
MDL:[printer model];
CLS:PRINTER;
DES:EPSON [printer model];
\f
