Re: Radio @ OS 4.1

Just popping in

just on my way for TuneNet stuff I discovered an iPod skin on Os4Depot. In which folder should I put this in order to be recognised by the software?

EDIT: It was actually a Dock Skin and not a full skin. that is why it was not working. Have found some good Docky skins out there. Can not wait for more official TuneNet skins.

Hey Walky thanks for the plug in.

Although the problem still remains, but I guess this was a good step. Perhaps I should try to email the author meanwhile any other suggesitons would be great. Do you want to give here my broadcast server details?

Trying to broadcast through TuneNet ussing many optional servers from liste2myradio.com (different ports and addresses) but the prog always fails to connect.

I am selecting AIFF encoding -the only one provided by the software-, a deafult AHI driver... There is not really much to check out...

I am re typing the server password again only to get the same error message "Unable to connect to broadcast server- when I try to broadcast.

Has anyone tried it for real? And if yes under which server?

Thanks in advance... :D

ps. it works fine in WinAmp :(

Radio @ OS 4.1

Just popping in

Wanted to set up a little "net radio" ussing my Samantha -or Pegasos- as a broadcasting machine. I filled a nice card with lots of mp3s connected my external USB card reader @ SAM's USB, set up an account @ a free Listen2MyRaido sever and then I stuck cause I realised that as fas as I know there is no software or plug in for AmigaAMP similar to SHOUTCast letting me broadcast through a player. Is it true?

Is it a player for OS 4.1 or MorphOS letting me broadcast my mp3s connecting to a server? In WinAMP this is a very simple task done by a plug in called SHOUTCast as I alreayd pointed. This one fits to WinAMP. Is there somehting similar for AmigaAMP? or any other player?

If there is no official software, Can I use the plugins of WinAMP @ AmigaAMP and how?

Thanx.

Yes those are the error messages.

Thanks for the tips. So I guess there is no way to make the thing roll a little bit faster... Unfortunately my favorite games are not playable due to slow motion.. For example Metal Slug...

Any tips will be great.

Thanx.

first impression:

My gmail pages are shown corrupted -unlike the OWB given with 4.1-.

I am still on OEM version packed with AmigaOS. It seems to be stable and I have not got the trouble to downoad files.... like some other people have stated for newer versions.

MAME @ 4.1
Just popping in
Just popping in

I am sure it has been discussed before, if yes, mods please delete this one and guide me to the right place.

Well yesterday I installed MAME on my SAM adding some thousands of ROMs. I am using xMAME and xMAMEGUI. Think I did the right choice cause I know that there are some other versions in existence. Anyway On the startup I got some errors on the log window. First one is that the SDL sound plug inns have not been installed. Secondly it repots some incorrect lines on the config file that I have never edited myself it was the ready one came with the software. Errors reported in lines about sound and mouse.
The GUI started. But all the games runs very slow and the sound is playing with much delay. No smooth at all both pic and sound. Changine the resolution for Full screen in config file making it 320*250 did some trick but still it is not the MAME experience I was waiting for.

Please give me some guidance, what are those SDL sound plugins I should download and form where?
Any other tips and tricks to make it run fast and smooth?

It was running fast even in my Peg1 board.

In my Peg2 it runs dreamy.

In SAM it is nightmare?

Thanx

Chris

@Cool_amigaN

Well my issue was the point that AHI was not set up for Unit 0 but just for Music, roll into your rpefs and check. Btw, thanks COBRA!

The software now works almost fine except from the fact that I am getting a Data Storage Interrupt by the Gream Ripper everytime I quit the software and when I dragged a whole folder to be played. I gave more stack on the icon properties but that was not the solution.

@nubechecorre

Good idea but this one should be handled by the developers or the beta testers and I guess thta the most of them would have little time for something like this. Or maybe not?

@Dwyloc

Still have not install any player to test any mp3s. AmigaAMP was the first one. The test sound on AHI is all I can test sound with and it plays well. Still no datatype on OS4 for mp3s. I tried to open an mp3 file with mplayer but still no result... well I guess it is the mess of a begginer and nothing more. Should have all the issues fixed I guess. Thanks for the kind support guys.

@samo79

Yeah this was my point as well, cause I saw it running on a AmigaOne screenshot under 4.0. I keep on trying.

TuneNet need expat.libraryand there is a broken link on the OS4Depot link given @ the TuneNet downloads page. It also asks for threads library. Anyone kind enough to show me a way to those files?
