@Rogue

Fair enough, if there's no OS there's no place to play.

Let me draw the trolls towards me ...

*clearing throat*

"If you want new, completely fresh games, get a console,
never, and i say never, touch anything with Windows on,
yes, also buildings, they are filthy!
Walls are bad too, they could have gates."

hehe

On a different subject.
Being a non-OS4-betatester but very curious about the
ongoing development, is there something like a public
viewable bug database (something sourceforge offers i.e.)
for OS4? Or something like an up-to-date roadmap or simply
a list of tasks that are being worked on right now?

I believe not, but i wanted to ask this for a long time

Thanky ou very much

IIRC out latest U-Boot 1.2.0 build does support the sii3114. I'd have to check the source code, but I am pretty sure it does.

@acefnq

True, it's MUCH more stable and harder to shook than FFS
but it's also true that (at least for me) IF i stumbled
onto a hard error i have to reformat the partition.

Fortunately one gets the chance to backup all remaining
"good" files (as it mostly is only one file or dir that
went bad) to another partition and copy them back after
format.

A "repair" function would be awesome, integrated into
Partition Wizard, maybe!?

"Bounty" anyone?

@jahc

Which leads me to the question (as i don't know much about
SATA) if i can use four drives with the 3112 (as the sil0680
can, or di i have to use the four port 3114 to be able to
plug three (or more) devices in?

Switching to SATA - worth it?

I think about switching from ATA to SATA, now that i realized
that there are SATA150 DVD burner from LG

I also looked up some HD's from Seagate (60? up), but am unsure
about the compatibility.

1. As i understand it the Sil3112/3512 and SATA3114 are SATA150 only?
Can i use SATA300 HD's on them? (Of course loosing the high performance)

2. Can i boot from SATA drives as i can with ATA?

3. Whats the speed difference, is it worth it?

Thanks

Thanks

Thanks, mate, great work

How about adding some sounds to commands one can type
(given you have them sounds installed), like
/me burps (obviously)
/me yawns
/me screams
/me laughs
/me sobs and so on ?

That would make a nice feature request...and imagine, a whole
lot of jahc's body sounds on your HD, just I M A G I N E ! ! !

I haven't used FFS since upd4, so i can't comment on speed
differences, but i think the overall acess speed is quite
better with SFS

Of course it is!

Having my boot partition as SFS since upd3 and never had any
serious problems with it (lack of a repair-in-place tool sucks
sometimes, but as you won't experience such problems very often
it's not that much of a problem.
