Great, this is really appreciated, as there are a few proggies I always had a need for. Thanks to zzd10h and also alfkil for Qt. Tremendously

Great, tremendously good job! One more question:

When using SAM440 mini, do I need fans?

correct...forgot about that, as I am not a musican anymore. Used to play "classic/conert" guitar about 24 years ago . So not into that any more...

my favourite proggies are

clipgrab
cutereport
QtpfView

All those proggies offer something we did not have on OS4 before (cutereport) or are way better than things we have (clipgrab, QtpfView). All mentioned programs are integrated very well into AmigaOS (e.g. QtpfView).

@zzd10h
Good, at least we had some usable results. Therefore testing and porting Playlistmanager was worth it, in order to find some qt related problems.

(However, once the recognization of "Umlaut" containing files work, Playlistmanager will be quiet usable!)

Re: Beta testing

@alfkil
found annother important problem:

I tried Playlistmanager (which is just ported by zzd10h) and EasyImage Sizer (eis) from OS4Depot:

Once the file-/or pathnames contain german "Umlauts" (ä,ü,ö,...) they are not getting loaded. E.g. a directory containing images:

Österreich (dir)/01.jpg (file)
Österreich (dir)/02.jpg (file)

None of these images will get loaded.

If it looks like this:
Austria (dir)/01.jpg (file)
Austria (dir)/schön.jpg (file)
only 01.jpg gets loaded ?

Well it is not just displaying of Umlauts... it is the problem, that files/pathes containing "Umlauts" are not read at all -> Getting rid of all "Umlauts" in my filesystem is a bit to much...

But indeed, I just tested other software as well (EasyImage Sizer), none of them can handle "Umlauts" inside Filenames, trying to read images inside a directory which contains "Umlauts" somewhere inside the path, it will completely be ignored, guess this is a Qt problem.

Problem 8) is about resizing colums with my mouse inside the table:
Resizing Cellhight works, cellwidth/columwidth doesn't. I donnot even get a mouspointer which looks different. However inside qOrganizer and qt based spreadsheet software column resizing works very well?

Re: Beta testing

@alfkil

I found some "inconsistents" which might be due to Qt implementation. But only appears for some programs. E.g. programs behave strange, if you use/donnot use
- native AOS menus
- native ASL requesters
- middle mousebutton

see here for more:
http://www.amigans.net/modules/xforum ... t_id=81226#forumpost81226

Another one:
Resizing with dragbars (e.g. inside "Mainwindows" example -> black dock widget) is really slow (especially the vertical ones). Seems that Qt "looses the mouse". In order to resize I have to click left mousebutton and move mouse really really carefully and slowly to the right. Sometimes mouspointer becomes an "arrow"/normal again, even though left mousebutton is still pressed. This is on X1000 with "native paint engine" though!

Re: wish list

O.k. I found the problem... I had "Use middle mousebutton for contextmenu" enabled... but I didn't get a context menu at all and vital functions where missing. After unticking this in qt prefs, I found my contextmenu by rightclicking. Here I found the things I was looking for and complaining on. Before I wasn't aware, that there was context menu functionallity implemented!!!

So it comes down to:

1) Saving m3u playlist:
a) Freezes, if you untick "native menus" in qt prefs. Therefore only works, if you use AOS menus. Strange...

b) Only saves AOS playlist, when you donnot use native dialogs. If you work with ASL File Requesters, it only creates Linux like m3u file.

2) Treeview
Only works right after starting programm. In case you choose "New", your treeview and List view on the left is empty, but once you choose "explore dir..." only list view gets filled, treeview stays empty. When adding dirs or files to existing playlist, treeview doesn't get updated either.

3) Buttons donnot work -> freezes appear, I can only use menu
(This is on X1000 with "native rendering/paint engine"

Works if qt filerequesters are used, otherwise it doesn't.

4) What is the Fileexplorer on the right side for? I cannot drag and drop or add choosen dir to the left (playlist) ?
Some vital functions can be accesed via contextmenu - untick "use middle mousbutton for contextmenu" in qt Prefs!

5) I cannot delete entries in playlist

use contextmenu...

6) I cannot sort playlist by e.g. Genre or Title

use contextmenu

7) I cannot filter by anything

8) I cannot resize columns in playlist

9) When using native menus the "recent filelist" sections stays empty

10) If I have got directories containing Umlauts, they will be ignored...

All generated m3u.aos lists are Tunenet and AmigaAmp compatible However I couldn't test with "Umlauts" as all files containing them are ignored by playlistmanager.

11) Exporting playlists still use "Linux" way of saving pathes. (Which could be ignored, cannot figure out what we need xml playlist for example?

conclusion:
If problem 10) gets fixed, it is usable! Everything else could be worked around with proper settings of qt prefs. So carry on please!

Nevertheless, it seems there is some "inconsistance": Some programs require certain qt prefs settings - some donnot care.

I'll crosspost this one in qt betatesting.

Thanx and regards!

@zzd10h
fair enough...

Quote:
I only checked "file / save" "file / save as" option. There is another way in this program to save playlist ? (not in front of my Amiga)

Yes, the export way... see my edited stuff above

Quote:

-I remembered that I tested to remove tracks from the list and that it worked.

How did you do that? Maybe it is my "native" paint engine I have to use on X1000?

Quote:

-yes, explorer don't worked for me, I showed file but was not able to navigate backward.
-drag'n drop don't work on Qt (never worked on all Qt programs that I tested)

What for did the author then implement the fileexplorer?

Quote:

-tree view worked (tested with a list of 2 artists)

try to create a "new" playlist, does it still work? Can you delete titles from there?

Quote:

-columns resizing worked

strange, not for me?

Quote:

-recent files worked

yes, you are right. My fault, the do work...

Quote:

-buttons worked

Toolbarbuttons donnot work here. Try to start program, click on "New" toolbarbutton -> works, no problem... -> examine a directory/add files to playlist -> buttons donnot work anymore...

EDIT:
Ah... got the reason why buttons donnot work:
When using native AOS requesters, the donnot work? When using inbuild qt requesters, everything works, strange, isn't it. BTW this doesn't happen it Qt Textedit example...

However, thankyou for your effort.

Re: wish list

I'll keep checking, here are the first results:

1) Saving m3u playlist:
a) Freezes, if you untick "native menus" in qt prefs. Therefore only works, if you use AOS menus. Strange...

b) Only saves AOS playlist, when you donnot use native dialogs. If you work with ASL File Requesters, it only creates Linux like m3u file.

EDIT: next results:

4) What is the Fileexplorer on the right side for? I cannot drag and drop or add choosen dir to the left (playlist) ?

5) I cannot delete entries in playlist

6) I cannot sort playlist by e.g. Genre or Title

7) I cannot filter by anything

8) I cannot resize columns in playlist

9) When using native menus the "recent filelist" sections stays empty

Concluding: I may miss something, but up to now, I can only list one or more directories and save them as playlist, not much use. Could do this with a list CLI command as well. Donnot know wether the author did this on purpose or didn't implement those features yet? Cannot test on other systems.

EDIT: Next results

10) If I have got directories containing Umlauts, they will be ignored...

EDIT: About playlist compatibility

All generated m3u.aos lists are Tunenet and AmigaAmp compatible However I couldn't test with "Umlauts" as all files containing them are ignored by playlistmanager.

11) Exporting playlists still use "Linux" way of saving pathes. (Which could be ignored, cannot figure out what we need xml playlist for example?

No it isn't, Audacious m3u playlist cannot be played with either tunenet, AmigaAmp nor Winamp. Btw. Audacious m3u <> Winamp/official m3u

Re: wish list

@zzd10h @CygnusEd

Forgot about Audacious, however considering playlistbuilding it is not as user friendly as it could be, but works... yes

But there is another character and pathproblem

Audacious m3u playlist cannot be read by e.g. Tunenet. As
1) path is wrong: e.g. file:///MP3/Motörhead.mp3 instead of MP3:Motörhead.mp3
2) for blanks, German Umlauts (ä,ö,ü...) etc. you will see other characters if you open playlist in a plain editor. Tunenet still doesn't understand that sort of characters.

@zzd10h
make sure, that Umlauts (ö,ä,ü,...), accent aigu, accent grave etc are handled correctly.

And yes you could always write a converter on top, but would be better to have straight away "Amiga compatible"

wish list
Not too shy to talk
Not too shy to talk

As people doing a fantastic job in porting qt apps, I thought I open up a "wish list". However thanx a lot for
a) qt and
b) porting some apps, where I already found a few very useful!!! THANX!!

Here are my wishes:

Playlistmanager

Maybe this might be an Idea for porting... I need a playlistmanager. It should be capable off:

- reading my mp3 id3 tags
- filtering/display them by Artist,Genre,etc...
- a playlistcue where I can add selected songs
- a possibility to save playlist as eg. m3u, pls

It doesn't have to necessarly:
- play songs (would be of course great to play them via Datatypes, Arexx or whatever... might be a workaround for missing sound capabilities of qt)
- download covers and other stuff via Internet

I checked a few on qt-apps.org, cannot test everyone, as they donnot have Windows binaries, there maybe some better and easier ones around:

These ones were tested on Windows and suit my needs:
- Clementine (probably to many dependencies)
- cuberok (looks promising)

These ones couldn't be tested, but might suit my needs:
- TepSonic (sources still seem to be available on git?)
- PlayListGenerator
- Phonik?
- sleek?
- yarock

Thanks again...

@zzd10h
For me, "Native menu" is CHECKED. Once I use qt internal menus everything is o.K., as I said seems there goes something wrong once characters/chars a passed to AmigaOS.

for clipgrab, 1) and 2) are minor. But Clipboard stuff doesn't work - maybe I am missing something here? How is it supposed to work?

Indeed, Notes/Tasks has no source. I'll check with the author.
