Hope I'm not being 'Captain Obvious' but a few things I noticed were missing from the 'real' game during a couple of quick plays.
'Propaganda animation' (when people leave one city for another after a propaganda attack)
The "Ooh" sound effect when a 100 megaton warhead is produced.
The smiley face next to opponents faces to indicate your feelings towards them (the ones you are fighting you can turn to angry faces)
The "Dr Strangelove" and 'I won, I won' animations at the beginning and end of a game.
I'm not sure, but I think when a player 'died' the remaining weapons in his arsonal were fired, one by one, at cities randomly.

That should be very easy to add, once a download manager exists.
Hans
I meant, would it be something easy to add while we're waiting for a download manager.

I would like to have one. Whether I'll actually get one depends on:
1) The final selling price (so far it's just specualtion) 2) My financial situation at the time (like if I have any major repairs I have to pay for) 3) What it will do for ME that my A1 doesn't already do.
Regardless I'm not going to be an 'early adopter' this time. I'll wait and see what people have to say when they actually get their hands on one. See if there are any hardware issues, etc...

You know already that "union makes strength" so I thought what about using this to pay a fulltime developer? If we all give 10$ each month, we can reach at least 3000$ without problems.
This would be enough to pay a full time developer to develop what we all want.
How does it sound?
But would everyone agree on what "we" want?

One question:
Do you have something USB, inserted on your computer, that make, at same interval, an USB reset ???
(for example here I have an PS2toUSB adapter) that reset the USB sometime (maybe one time per 15 minuts).
Not me, just a USB hub. I have a Playstation2 to USB adapter but it wasn't plugged in when I was using the mp3 player or thumb drive. I'm using a plug-in USB card in my A1XE if that makes a difference.

@Kicko Quote: I'm getting the same kind of corruption as shown in your picture on the AW.net thread. I've got an A1XE. I've just started using a USB card. The mp3 player I'm using wasn't recognised until Update 1, so I don't know if it would have happened before the update or not with this device. I didn't used to have any problems with my other USB memory cards. I'm almost afraid to try them now. EDIT: I tried a 'known good' thumb drive (one that worked fine before update 1) and got the same kind of file corruption.

I've noticed that the pop-up menu in Workbench with the right mouse button reacts to what the mouse pointer is over, not what's highlighted. For example if you single click an icon to select it then move the mouse pointer off the icon to the Workbench (without unselecting the icon) and hold down the right button, you get the menu for Workbench and not the icon.
Is this a feature or a bug?

Image to icon (from the icon's information menu) doesn't seem to work with larger picture files anymore. It works fine with the smaller ones (the ones that are about icon sized anyway), but not the ones where it used to give the option of scaling or cropping.
Is that a bug or is there a setting somewhere I need to change?

You really like default screen-savers ?:) The better ones called GLBlankers and they on os4depot.
I was taking about the new Boing screen saver.

That changes the rest of the icons, but not the ones in the AmiDock.

I would also like to vote for scalable AmiDock, scrollable shell and improved clockdockie. Maybe the clockdockie could have options for transparency and digital.
Also in Printer prefs there doesn't seem to be a way to change the size of the printable graphics area. I printed some PDFs and part of the bottoms were cut off.
Also I noticed IconEdit is still there (beautiful icon for that), but it doesn't handle the newer (OS4.0 and higher) icons. It doesn't seem to serve any purpose as is. If it's too hard to make a 'real' icon editor maybe you should remove it altogether.
I hope it doesn't sound like we're complaining. We're just trying to improve the next version of our beloved Amiga OS!

Very appropriate.

@RacerX Quote: RacerX wrote: Is there a way to re-size the icons in AmiDock? I use a 1024x768 screen and the new icons look too big next to my old ones. Plus I can only get about 12 on one line (I had 17 with the previous version) I looked all through the AmiDock prefs but I didn't see anything about changing the icon sizes.
I have my AmiDock set to the bottom right, and I noticed I can drag the left edge out (to the left) to stretch the dock and make a little more room. Not a perfect solution but it helps.
