@AmiDog
The version was actually 040719. My apologies to folks as I added the WIP numbers as I tried your program (just remembered that). I'll try you latest before I belly ache any more.

I have just tried playing Red Alert with FPSE -WIP7 under AOS4 Final. The games starts ok, however, the logo appears only in B&W and the mouse does not synch with the Amiga mouse. Does anyone else suffer this? Played fine under update 4. I have tried the compiler on and off. Any suggestions?

@Hans
Taking a screenshot of a fast animated icon was neigh on impossible with SGrab but I managed one.

Will upload to the image section.

This is one very nice program, PEB should be conratulated. Users should consider a small donation to keep his interest high!

Cheers

@AmiGame

If you are about to change your battery there is no point. Just do it. Reboot your Amiga and go to prefs/Uboot and change your settings there. Hit esc and enter the Uboot bootup if you need to interupt the boot sequence. Otherwise, I think the command is printenv to see what your settings currently are.

@AmiGame

Remember you will need to reset UBoot to at least minimum specs to boot into AOS4, from there make your first visit is to Prefs/UBoot and changed the parameters you need.

@AmiGame
Never ever trust the battery situation. I have had to replace batteries a few weeks after install, I guess it may point as to how long they have hung on the hook in the shop. Go back to basics and try another battery. From memory this is something to do with the actual PPC setup requiring constant power (may be wrong).

@COBRA

I totally agree, I was just about to post to that affect. I am not a developer so I don't see the affect on the SDK assigns but this gives breathing space for users whilst Ed develops his program.

Sorry if I came across that this was a panacea for everything, it clearly is not and I feel sorry for the developers who use the SDK and can't easily switch off by playing a game for a while. Mind you we all have the luxury of RAPID soft REBOOT and on the fly assigns as well.
Equally, I feel for Ed because there is no simple answer at this stage. At least this is a half way fix for now and he can continue developing without gamers complaining.

Sound works fine with Netpanzer and cygnix running at the same time. However if you start Q3 after either cgynix or Netpanzer has run sound will not work, it will work if Q3 is run first.

I have managed to get Netpanzer, Quake3 and cygnix all to play nicely together using the standard cygnix user-startup assigns etc.

In the cysgnix/home/root folder I created a folder called .q3, I also had a folder existing there called .netpanzer, I then copied the folders in my Netpanzer folder to that directory and all works well. Not sure about the sound being available after closing one of the programs, I will test that now.

@cygnusEd
Netpanzer refuses to load it is looking for a font in the Netpanzer/Pics directory. Quake 3 runs fine.

@cygnusEd and all

Re Netpanzer, Quake 3 and Cygnix clash.

I am using a kludged work around. There was a thread that directed to create a path like this in your games directory where your Quake 3 folder resides

for mine this is:
Games:OS4games/cygnix/home/root/.q3a/
make sure you create each of these folders.

In user-startup-I disable the line
assign Cygnix: "Work:OS4Apps/X11R6.3-Pre3"

During boot up you will get asked to assign cygnix, just ignore. In the meantime you can play Q3 or Netpanzer but once you start cygnix manually you may have problems, my quake 3 runs but with no sound (obviously it has been handed over to cygnix).

Hope this helps some folks.

@cygnusEd

Will we be able to point to Amiga directories to load MS files and images such like? If so this is one huge step forward for AOS4.

Also like Hans I have to disable the assign in user startup as it inteferes with NetPanzer (with Hans it is SDK) any fix possible?

Cheers

@Mikey_C

OK, I have him captive in my shed, here are my demands.

Release affordable high end AOS4/MOS/AROS, oh hell while your at it , BEOS, Mac 9.2, OSX, FreeBSD, OpenBSD, Atari, QNX, Unix, Linux (all flavours) Zeta and Solaris compatible hardware by midnight 12/03/07 or you'll never PM, IRC, email, VC or telecon with him ever again.

And it had better not be that cheap Amiga-Anywhere software solution!!!!

Be warned I am serious.

PS I really don't know where he is!

@nubechecorre

I think Jape's next reply is probably the best way forward. I must admit I copied over a lot of old libs when I first had problems with AOS4 Final and that seemed to fix them BUT you shouldn't contanimate you libs directory willy nilly, try using snoopy from OS4Depot and see if it can pinpoint your problem.
