Xena Brings Interesting Possibilities ;)
Not too shy to talk

Now that we know of the unique programable Xena chip, this co-processor opens up a lot of unique possibilities for the new AmigaOne X1000, the first AmigaOne X for the new Amiga hardware platform.

Imagine how interested a game company like Lucasarts would be in collaboration of making new advanced Star Wars games like The Force Unleashed trilogy, using technologies like the Euporia or what the name is like..

You know, this kind of advanced realistic animation technology you find in the console game "The Force Unleashed" where metal bends like metal, where enemies with advanced AI will grab what they can when they are knocked out of the present area where they stand, screams and sounds that will sound just like expected in
real life, blood that will flow as real blood, environment and landscapes that truly look like as we seem then in real life and far much more...

Xena introduces such unique abillities to the new Amiga platform..

It's not something we should think about right here and now, but just to have it in mind for a later date when the new Amiga platform has managed to secured its' rebirth as the best multimedia platform of choice.

@Caveman

Wouldn't agree more. Alternative solutions become now more and more attractive.

Windows has dominated the computer industry the last 15 years, at least to say, and i would say that most of us as well as many others might feel that such a system has become way too traditional and "boring" because it's
the most used and easiest available OS out there..

Just because Windows is the most used and the most available OS to use, doesn't mean it's the best one to use.
A lot of people seem to forget that, as i tried to explain a
former Amiga-user and a friend of mine, whom now has been "brain-washed" by the domination of Windows..

I believe that 2010 marks the year of a whole new beginning. A whole new year of changes and differences,
so yes, the Amiga can very well become the best choice and an important platform again as in the 80-ies..

People might get mad at me when saying this, but Windows today has become like a super-star getting
too many "facelifts" and way too much "make-up".
Like an old T-Rex trying to look like a natural beauty
with make-up and plastic surgey..

I'm afraid that is the truth with the Windows of today.
If you are tired of old traditions like this, break free and
join the new next-generation Amiga-platform. Use the
latest AmigaOS and have a lot of fun. You the user forms
the future, not the other way around..

Well, i certainly will learn well not to take out frustrations and anger on others, but keep it deeply inside and to be alone when that happens..

I'm sure it's not happening now that this is the best news for the Amiga since Amiga 1000 back in 1985!

@OldAmigan

Thanks my friend Well, can hardly talk about it here, but there have been some...problems for me on another well-known Amiga-site, so that is a thing of the past for me. This is a whole new, fresh beginning..

So don't worry. I will always be "home" where the Amiga is. That is for sure..

The funny side of this thing is that on the site i am no longer a member in, i tried to tell people that i never
stopped believing in the Amiga, that Amiga would return as it did in the 80-ies. Almost nobody on that site believed me and told me that i was dreaming out of reality..

Now it actually seems that i am finally right. Such an irony

Point taken. Things have to go carefully in the first place. We don't want another failure, but i'm confident that Hyperion/A-EON are the ones who can make it..

Today, this article about the forthcoming AmigaOne X1000 was mentioned in a Norwegian PC World-magazine!!!

They are warmly welcoming this news and also correctly mentioned that Hyperion Entertainment and A-EON are working together to provide this brand new Amiga platform, and the 25th Amiga celebrity in summer!

This time, the rebirth and comeback of the Amiga is for REAL!

@Hondo and all

I just noticed it recently. I am actually 99% sure that Hyperions' secret project is a brand new Amiga. Dual-Core and with state-of-the-art todays' technology..

Hyperion seem to have a lot of great plans, and they truly want to bring the Amiga back to the frontline again! They know that we no longer can accept the Amiga to be ONLY a hobby system, but so much more!

Great news! Happy new year, folks!

Wireless Network Confusion..
Not too shy to talk
Not too shy to talk

Hello everybody! Hope you are doing fine. I was just wondering about something. Not really Amiga-related, as i am for the moment using a Windows 7 Ultimate PC..

Here is the catch: I have 2 routers. The one is a wireless router AirLink Jensen 53900 and the other one is an Internet-gateway called Inteno with one antenna and
4 LAN-connectors, including one for normal DSL..

I am using both a PC and an XBox 360 Elite connected to the net. The last one is connected with a wireless adapter that currently is the one with only one antenna.

Earlier, the AirLink53900 was setup as an Access Point and
even XBox was able to get wireless to the net. That was over a month ago, as my XBox has been repaired, probably with a new motherboard. Trying to set it up again, i noticed that it was not possible to get connected to the net with the XBox, even using AirLink as an Access Point.

XBox Live mentioned a problem with the NAT configuration, that it was mostly Moderate and might limit my network access with xbox. It also mentioned that UnPlng or something like that had to be ENABLE...

Resetting the wireless router (letting the Inteno remain as it always is, as an internet gateway itself), i made some additional advanced settings giving as much information to the wireless router as possible, enabling the Unplng thing, Dynamic IP and such, and i did all that with NO Access Point configuration...

The strange thing is that both the PC and the XBox with its' own wireless adapter were able to get straight into the net with no problem at all..

But still, is this information right? HKvalhe - Gateway (which is the wireless one) and the Internet globe? When XBox is connected, it gets the same information too on the configuration display in the Network Configuration in Win7..

I assume that this means that the Inteno Internet Gateway no longer have to be mentioned as such a gateway, now that all the gateway happens directly from the AirLink wireless router, straight to the net?

Is this the right way, or is the something else i should do? I will be happy for any help i can get..
