Boing Ball Help!
Not too shy to talk
Not too shy to talk

Hi everyone,

I need a good boing ball like this one:

http://www.f1-software.com/images/icons/amiga-boing-ball.png

same number of checks, basically exactly like that one but without shades/gradients, just red and white.

Can anyone help please?

Thank you :)

@thread

I have to say that the name AmigaOne X1000 is a bit long but if they have already decided what is the point?

Thanks for the words!

I'll check with Hyperion.

@A1200

>>Don't worry about that, Hyperion are still doing the washing up as their Lawyers from the Amiga case. Only about 20,000 more dishes to wash then they can Sue TheDaddy.

I think they would be reasonable about it, its not exactly a conflict of interest.

Ah...that is what it meant...

I better ask first then if it's ok to use the Boing Ball

If there is enough interest then I can look into it.

New Amiga Keyboard
Not too shy to talk
Not too shy to talk

Hi,

Someone has emailed me asking if it would be possible to make a few standalone USB keyboards based on the design used in my X500-F to use with existing Amigas.

These would look more or less like this one:

http://www.loriano.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/X500-F.htm

but without the switches obviously, the logo would change to whatever we agree to change it to:

For example:
Amiga
X1000
AmigaOne X1000
nothing
or whatever you fancy.

There could also be space for a sticker or maybe an engraved boing ball if Hyperion are ok with that.

Anyone interested in this?

@TSK

>>With scandinavian keys I hope ?

It will depend. I spoke to the manufacture and they told me that for extra cash (argh!) we can have different languages keyboards but this will have to be decided later.

More importanly I have specifically asked for the Windows logo NOT to be printed which means they will come blank, so you can put whatever you like; Aros logo, the "A" of the original Amigas, a boing ball, a multicoloured tick, a penguin, anything you fancy.

I can have the two "A" printed when they make the keyboards if everyone is ok with that.

Would you prefer the two "A" to be already on the keyboard?

This would allows us a nice CTRL-A-A reset

Exactly, both the boards will fit, the mini-itx board should breath better but both have plenty of space.

Inside there is room for a slim DVD-RW, 2.5" HD, a short 3.5" card reader.

@Antique

It has a standard keyboard inside.

No complicated custom keyboards, this one works a treat.

SAM/Natami case...game
Not too shy to talk
Not too shy to talk

As many of you know I have been designing cases for niche/custom boards for some time (Minimig, 1541 Ultimate...):

www.loriano.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk

But in parallel I have also been working on a new case for the SAM/Natami/mini-itx boards, in my spare time.

The idea started when towerising (is that a word?!) the A1200 was all the rage:

my take on it... :)

http://loriano.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/DayP14.htm

then four-five years ago I started sketching a replacement case for the A1200 which was later converted to accept mini-itx board (this is when the SAM came out), which in turn....was converted again to accept the SAM Flex as well!

I have invested a lot of time, effort and money into this and it is the biggest thing I have ever done...I have called it Loriano's Most Ambitious Project. :)

Anyway since I have started running out of cash now that I am so close to finishing it I thought of buying some time by posting some snippets/clues now and then and let you guys have fun, I am not very good with riddles so you'll see just cropped pictures and words that will appear on my site:

http://loriano.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/game.htm

Hopefully a fully working prototype will be ready in the next 2-3 weeks...it's all down to raising the last bit of money needed, so my laptop is going to end up on ebay soon.

Have fun! :)

@ikir

I am not so sure.

I would prefer a mini-itx form factor without the onboard gfx chip, a more powerful cpu and one PCIExpress slot X16 for a graphics card.

Nice

New Case
Not too shy to talk
Not too shy to talk

Hi everyone,

You might know me for designing and producing the Minimig cases and the 1541U cases for the Commodore 64 (more specifically for the 1541 Ultimate board for the C64, C128, Vic 20 and Plus 4).

www.loriano.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk

As you know I have been working on a new computer case for some time, on and off for about three maybe four years, and it?s only now that I have finally managed to reach a stage where a fully working prototype can be made.

Originally this case was going to be a dedicated case for the SAM and the Natami (when it becomes available) but with time it developed into something that, hopefully, will attract more buyers since it?s going to accommodate different motherboards standards.

Specifications:

Low Profile Case
Accepts Mini ITX, Flex ATX and Micro ATX motherboards
Space for one 5.25? drive (DVD-RW/Blueray)
Space for one maybe two 3.5? hard drives
Space for one maybe two 3.5? drives (floppy disk drive or card reader)
Space for one picoPSU (at the moment I think the most powerful is the picoPSU 150W by minibox)
Accepts ONLY Low Profile cards

I would like to get some input from you guys.

Could you please let me know what you think is the most powerful system that can run on a 150W-200W picoPSU?

Not just Amiga related (SAMs, A1s etc..etc?) but also x86 based.

So if you had 150W maybe 200W of power to play with what is the most powerful system you could build?

Consider:
CPU (any)
DVD-RW/Blueray
Low Profile Graphics Card (in PCI, AGP or PCI-Express form) I am particularly interested in this!
Two to four 3.5? Drives
Up to two PCI Expansion Cards

Once I have gathered enough data I?ll see if I can have a fully working prototype made, hopefully by the end of this year maybe January 2010.

PS: If you have a C64 with a ?naked? 1541 Ultimate board please consider buying a case for it as this money will go towards this new project.
