Re: AmiCygnix export DISPLAY help

@cygnusEd

Basically my question is if I use real hardware (dedicated machine with Nvidia driver) the speed is higher or it always remains that of WinUAE. ?

Thank you.

@cygnusEd

Thanks for the tips,
Indeed Picassodb is fast maybe even better,

Only problem is that it gives me offset colors in AmiCygnix
I tried the various RTG tables but the result doesn't change.
It probably depends on WinUAE.

Note:
I'm using VMWare to host Ubuntu and am getting errors in the Amiga shell window.

I was wondering if it's due to missing NVidia hardware drivers or if it's my configuration wrong in AmigaOS.

At the end of the video the errors in the console are reported
Maybe it helps to understand why

(glx extension missing)

Thanks.

Here the DISPLAY export with Cybergraphix

with the precautions indicated above

taking into account that I'm using 3 virtual machines and the screen capture at the same time.

As usual, a better emulated graphics card would be needed

Currently Cybergraphix in emulation seems to be the best choice with AmiCygnix.
But this isn't very important, it's just a hobby to see what you can do with emulation.

here is an example with ffplay and firefox (firefox I need to understand better how to optimize it I did some tests the videos can be seen well once started).

here is an example video:

@cygnusEd

I found two solutions that work.

The first is this:
;
; $VER: Launch-Amiga-Shell.bat 1.1 (04.01.2023) © Edgar Schwan
;
; Launches an Amiga shell on the Workbench (I deactivated the shell)
;

Cygnix:CygnixPPC/bin/wbench2front

this takes me back to the AmigaOS Desktop

but i don't know how to add it to the menus

The second less elegant but it works I added the top bar that takes me back to the Desktop and I can work with the shell for exportDISPLAY ("Cybergraphix")

I had to use winuae in window to facilitate video capture.
Full screen works without screen flickering.

the example in this video:

@cygnusEd

Thanks a lot for the reply,
AmiCygnix works fine with AmiCygnix with "WinUAE"
I managed to get "Cybergraphix" to work with the shell to use the "exportDISPLAY"

I miss this step if it is possible to do it,
as written in the documentation there is no "top bar" in the "Cybergraphix" desktop.
Is there also on the AmigaOS side a keyboard shortcut to go back to the Amiga Desktop once AmiCygnix is in the foreground ?

Thanks again for any response.

Or, if possible, create a "script" with AmiCygnix that takes me back to the AmigaOS Desktop ?

I made a short video,
to give an example of what I would like to do,

Thank you.

( in this case I used "Voodoo3" but it also works with "uaegfx" )

The "db drivers" also work.
But they are a little slower.
That's why I would like to use "Cybergraphix"
They seem much faster in emulation.

Re: AmiCygnix export DISPLAY help

This problem occurs only when I open the "amiga shell" or "unix shell" to use "export DISPLAY"
In practice, I lower the AmigaOS desktop and access the "AmiCygnix" Desktop and the cursor freezes.
If I use the desktop with "Cybergraphix" and use the applications, the cursor does not freeze and works perfectly.

There is some solution to open the shell directly on the Desktop of "AmiCygnix".

Thank you

Re: AmiCygnix export DISPLAY help

I succeeded, now I can get "AmiCygnix" to work with the DISPLAY export.

I had a question if it was possible to fix it.

all selected screenmode modes work
but on my emulation the fastest is "Cybergraphix"
I read in the "AmiCygnix" readme that it is obsolete.

I only have this problem if I use "Cybergraphix" the mouse pointer freezes and I can't move it anymore.
Once the "amiga shell" from "AmiCygnix" was launched.

I wanted to ask if I could somehow fix this problem by manually intervening on the "AmiCygnix" configuration.
The "AmiCygnix" screen is not blocked because if I press the keys at random the menus appear.
There is a key combination to acquire the "mouse" pointer. ?

Which file could I edit as an alternative to solve the problem?

Thanks for any help.

Here two screenshots with Ffplay and Firefox working regularly with the "Amiga" shell

@All

Thanks for the replies they were very helpful and kind
But I imagine that not having a real IP address with AmigaOS using for example WinUAE I can only use an emulated "network IP".
(ethernet)
I believe unfortunately there is no trick to overcome this.

And then bind the IP to the export DISPLAY

as happens instead to a real IP of an Amiga Machine.

but the video appears in the "ubuntu" window

how do I export the DISPLAY directly to AmiCygnix ?

there is something to configure in AmiCygnix

Thank you,

here is a small video that I made if it can be useful to explain myself better.

Hi,
Raziel

Thanks for the reply, I was trying (QT-Browser)

Internet-SurfBoard

And

QT-WEB

but it seems to be looking for libpng14.so
I tried to rename it but it doesn't work

The problem is that using Browservice at some point the video stream stops.
The problem lies in the QT-Browsers because with other Browsers for Amigaos 4.1 it works perfectly for example Odyssey.

But the two Qt-Browsers I'm trying with are really very fast.

I think the stream stops because libpng14.so is missing

here a little test if it can help:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s5mUAT6th98

How could I solve the problem, Thanks

@All
I apologize for the OT,

In your configuration what you select:
I mean for example in Workbench emulated for example OS 3.2

"uaegfx"
or
"picassoIV"

I personally am using "uaegfx" with Picasso96 installation

Thank you.

@FlynnTheAvatar

(the first beta)
this is the "BETA" version of uae compiled by:
@FlynnTheAvatar
I tried to see if you had put other versions
but he tells me:

The item does not exist or is no longer available
The item has been deleted, has expired, or you don't have permission to view it. For more information, contact the owner of the item.

here my test with the "metropolice" demo-scene with your first "build" that you compiled.

of course I don't claim that it works perfectly
but I try to adapt it with my emulation.

there is currently no version available on onedrive i looked at.

Thank you.

@All
I wanted to ask if it was possible to have one of these betas that you are using.
I'd love to try them.

Of course I can't contribute anything (having no real hardware).

But I'd like to try them.
Because somehow I manage to adapt them to my emulation.

Thank you.

@LiveForIt
yes probably,
try it costs nothing,
I was looking for something faster for the "Voodoo 3"
at higher resolutions.
But I am aware that all builds are for "real systems".

It costs nothing to try them, in fact maybe I'm lucky and it increases the speed in resolution.

Indeed thank you.

Thanks,

for the build,
I always try to get more speed,
I hope you all post test builds from time to time,
Thanks again.
