I don?t think support for OS4.0 binaries will be need for where long, but that?s my option.

@jahc
It?s quite clear that current state of the AmigaOS3.x/4.0 has some limitations or some broken design issues.
We have many new features in the AmigaOS4.x they can be used by new programs, but when you write program for the OS, that is generally you have to resort to old ways doing things because that how thing was designed to work in MUI, Graphics, Intuition, dos and everywhere else, so new features are kind of limited to new components and internal use in programs where it does not conflict whit some API or OS structure,
So now is the time for a general update of every thing, so we can have full memory protection and SMP support.
But this will break whit older program, and there?s nothing we can do about that, or is there, well emulators like WINE, Shapeshifter and UAE has been around for ages, and this how AmigaOS4.x will keep running AmigaOS4.0 and AmigaOS3.x programs that are system friendly by the old design.
It will be just like running WarpUP programs on update 3 or 4, hopefully it will a bit more compatible.

@TSK Quote: Simple guy so I need only simple solutions. Diropus Magellan is file manager that end up as being a desktop replacement. There are many ways Diropus Magellan can execute simple CLI commands (lha, unzip), REXX, and CLI scripts to do many advanced task, by simply dragging and dropping, menus or toolboxes. Workbench on the other hand is kind of restricted to one tooltype action predefined by deftools prefs and simple copy, rename actions. Quote: I don?t think you should call it a clone, it a replacement whit the power of a filemanager.

Yes its default to a ram buffer, there is command in C: that can dump the memory (C:DumpDebugBuffer), the memory is not lost when doing warm reboot only cold reboot.
In other words you do not need a serial cable anymore, unless you computer freezes up completely.

@Mikey_C
Well most likely work whit MacOS8, but MacOS9 will not, because using interpreted 680x0 emulation, Basilisk 2 can theoretically support native PowerPC, currently only supported on BeOS PPC, I have not investigated if this is possible or not, it should be able to emulate MacOS9 and maybe even MacOSX.

No he did not. Quote: And will you get a fixed CPU board?
Max Tretene / ACube-systems has the CPU modules, he has checked it and did not work, they are currently investigating the problem. Quote: Or maybe it is too damaged to be fixed....
I think it will be fixed, it does not look burnt or any thing like that, most likely some bad soldering job

@Atheist
I keep my beloved XE as backup computer, if I?m going to buy sam440 or not depends on 3d / video benchmarks and reports coming from others how do buy it, and my economy at time when its ready whit AmigaOS4, I think ACube-Systems are going do well as hardware manufacture.

@walkero
?move windows or other programs, the sound breaks for a while.?
That?s because intuition is locked for period of time, as result AmigaAMP is not able to update its own GUI, the result is that program stops, a better multithreaded AmigaAMP should not stop.
AHI can also suffer from program blocking multitasking for too long, or under heavy CPU load, AmigaOS3.x is far from perfect.
Off topic: AmigaOS4.0 has features that deal whit many of the issues, but like non blocking menus, drag windows whit content, and resize windows width content, plus there a new exec API functions that can be used instead of blocking multitasking, memory protection and virtualized memory, of course not all new features are automatically used, because old programs do not know under what conditions is safe to use new features (or conditions where it can break backward capability), or because new features can?t simply replace none existing features, developers should there investigate new features and seek out when useful to use this.
Back to topic: there are many parches that can help solve some the AmigaOS3.x issues (MCP for example has drag/resize window whit content).

Nice program, but does this not kill the most popular download stats per month?
Also it nice if you can add some kind ?lha x? option, download and unpack.

Short circuit some where, maybe water damage of some kind, look for white / greenish dust (verdigris) this caused by moisture, maybe wet weather as damaged your motherboard, this result in small amount of electrons form move negative current to plus current, and discharge your backup battery over time.
I have also noticed if you never turn off your AmigaOne your Amiga will not be able to recharge your backup battery?s, backup battery are drained / or will not be charged when you?re using your Amiga One.
