No idea I have only replaced battery once, I notices that if you never turn off your computer, the backup battery will never be recharged to full capacity.
You should never use the power switch on back of your power supply.

@orgin
What this needs is the A1200 clock port and A1200 trapdoor slot, if that can be combined whit A500 design, hem what about making an A600 type of minimig?
Just imagine an Amiga compatible computer that can use Amiga1200 expansion add-ons, including accelerators (like for example buzzard PPC, or how about making a clone of the Blizzard PPC card for it)

Thinking out loud: ?Some one truly concerned about developers, almost too noble to be true.?
I see no reason to assume developers are not getting payed, I?m quite shore if they were not payed they stop working on it this second.

Problems whit front side USB ports are related to none standard PIN outs on motherboard, the pins + power (red) on the correct pin and ? ground (black) is on the correct and signal pins, you check that voltmeter, there should be picture or description on pin outs in PDF provided whit AmigaOne motherboard.

This days I think in bossiness world is absolutely necessary to have e-mail client where you can book appointments, a possibility to connect to your office using your privet network, if you?re in your office you need to be able to access your SQL server to obtain sales information, reports, number of units in stock at your storage, we also on the edge of new area where business is more and more liked up towards PDA?s and distribution nets require information shearing between different kind of systems, sales, marketing, advisement, storage and distribution, and every thing is in your local or global database, sharing document, customer information on your fileserver.

@quenthal Quote: 1) DMA and USB: Is this SIL card and USB-hub enough to avoid those hw/dma-problems? What about ethernet usage? If DMA-problem can cause errors with ethernet, should I use PCI-NIC? What about PCI USB? Are DMA-modes possible/recommended with SIL?
DMA and USB are not related problems. DMA problems are problem that affects the 3COM chip and VIA686b chip, the problem is solved by rerouting some IRQ signals (there exists some Eyetech documentation about how to fix it, the PDF was leaked by distributors, you should not adamant it unless you know what your doing, experienced in electronics, some of the traces are where tiny. ) You can avoid the problem by using the VIA686b chip in PIO mode, whit the penalty of slower transferee speeds, or by not using the onboard ATA controller at all. The USB problem is issue where USB devices are not recognised by the system, and need reboot to get system notice the devices, the problem is because some one forgot put some resistors on the motherboard, I have seen an internal USB fix, and the an external USB fix, but as long as you have stable USB connection that is never unplugged, you do not notice the problem, the easiest way to avoid the problem is use a powered USB hub between the device you unplug often. The sound problem, the mixer chip is missing, it was present some first XE motherboards but then it was removed on newer motherboards, Quote: 1) CPU & cooling: There is (probably original) heatsink and fan on the CPU, which seems little "wiggly"
This true, the cooling is only attached whit tow pins that goes throw the original CPU / Northbridge cooler on to the CPU module, and it?s not attached whit any kind spring or force towards the CPU, many have replaced the CPU cooler whit better Northbridge cooler.

@Snuffy
AmigaOne has standard PC floppy controller chip, the standard PC floppy disk can only read 9 sector per track disks (720k DD) or 18 sector per track disks (1.44mb HD).
The standard Amiga controller has 11 sectors per track (880k DD), and 22 sectors per track for HD disks.
The 2en difference is that MFM encoding on magnetic media is different on PC and Amiga.
The PC controller chips are not as flexible as the Amiga controller chips, I think it has some thing to do whit rotation speeds of floppy media,
Buy a Cat MK3 or MK4 this will work whit the driver I wrote, but only in 880k DD format, the driver I have does HD and DD, but is buggy that way it?s not available.

@TetiSoft Quote: IMHO changing LowCyl will have zero effect with CrossDOSFileSystem. With FAT95 or XFSD it should have an effect.
Yes I have notices, this where annoying when things does not work as they are suppose to work, I tried mount few different partitions on my PC hard drive whit no success. The disk contained a none standard partition table, because it contained 2 or 3 primary partitions, and then an extended whit few logical partitions whit in, Linux on some partitions and windows on others. It nice if the old way mounting disks where supported some how, or if AmigaOS supported MBR format; that way don?t need spend hours wondering way things are the way they are.
